What does Trance stand for?

What does it mean literally (Is it an Acronym?), and to you personnelly?

1. A hypnotic, cataleptic, or ecstatic state.
2. Detachment from one's physical surroundings, as in contemplation or daydreaming.
3. A semiconscious state, as between sleeping and waking; a daze.

to me trance is great its when the music takes me away from the "normal" world and i have no worries...i think

And, incase any body is wonderin what dictionary I have, its a penguin 2nd edition 1, it doesn't have page numbers but I reakon it has more than 1000.

I love trance when I'm driving, the ride is just so smooth and enjoyable. Just pop in a good set like Oakie@Liverpool and enjoy the ride.

Trance for has been the part of me in everyday life. It feels like the skies seem so much bigger yet there's that strong power inside your body & soul that gives you the ecstatic feeling the bursts into happiness! If I'm sad or mad or just want to be happy I pop in a tune & everything seems to disappear behind me... Sometimes I like hard trance or mellow trance, a lot of times the slow tempo that leads into vocals & anthems that mix in with the perfect beat... I can't get enough of trance...

wow i could give you the longest answer but it end up being as long as an essay...but in short trance is music...but much more than that at the same time...i could say its a way of living, but thatd be too cliche

Trance is emotional, powerful, electronica.

the feeling of being in a trance is when you are not concious in this world, but you are absorbed in something else. (like if you were in a crowded, noisy room but all you hear and see is one thing, you are in a trance.)

I feel as an individual that trance is just an extended moment when you stop thinking and just feel. That is what trance is to me.

to me, i always though of trance as being a fusion of electronic and classical music.. of sorts..

I listen to trance while I drive too... Sometimes at night it's dangerous for me tho cuz I'll be drivin alone and have some soft trance goin and it'll be late and I'll feel like goin to sleep. But it hasn't happened yet

Yeah, you gotta watch while driving. It's easy to drift if it's a soft trancer from Chicane or something. Likewise it's easy to speed and swerve if you've got some Svenson & Gielen in there.
