Satan (eek!) [Dark Trance] OrgaNik - Wolf Tracks (Full 192)

Imagine this:
You are alone in the woods. Lost.
You try and find your way home.
You sweep the ground with your flashlight, hoping to find a path of some sort.
Instead you see something else.
You see...
Wolf Tracks

What do you do?

(8:17, 192kbps, 11.3MB)

what i'd do?

i'd turn out the lights and wouldn't listen to it...

but i'm excited, and try to find out what the bad wolf will do with me...

strong beginning...
nice sweep fx...
that bleep sound is not really my cup of tea...
percussion which fades in is nice...
nice airy pad...underlines the horroristic atmosphere...
i like the break...pad-mellow is cool...
build-up and down is good aswell...

good work...not what i normally are used to hear, but it definately has something special...

like'n it so far.....
that clap ain't sitting right with me, its like its off by 1/64 or something....
At the break now,very wolfy.
I see the wolf, he sees me...... THAN I RUN.
ha, nice kick in.
not love'n the kick, i think it would sound awsome layered with another kick to fill it space better.
nice transition with the bassline.
i think that erie pad is a little to upfront for me, and this sweeping sitar like sound sounds a little cheese. just personal taste though.
very erie track though, i like it.
Was waiting for some kind of different transitions afte the second break, kinda just went into the same beat without any added percs/melody.
Cool track though, melody is a little simplistic to be a total breakthrough track, but really cool job!

I know it's simplistic, that's kinda the whole point...

not bad at all, Nik

nice solid kik...efx and sweeps are cool...pads are nice...dark feel to it wich is good...first break ok..second one good....would fit nice in my tecno set..minimal is good..arangment works..nice pace and feel to overall track...liking the percusion at the end.works well for me..
keep up the good work

hey mate, reviewing as i listen..
those effects are good in the beginning and the kick nice & hard..
1:00 the bassline is introduced wich i find quite hard to notice...
that dark pad at 1:50 id very creepy i like it.
2:25 nice combination the pads with the kick although it would be nicer if you used some of the effects used in the beginning here. 3:00 the key change of the pad is very nice. as mentioned the track is quite simplictick (not sure how to spell it) but anyways so are mine.. i liked the track good work

Thanks guys.

I enjoyed this, pretty cool dark track. Wasn't sure about the kick initially, but it seems to work. I like the melody too. Good job.

Like I said, Nik, good work in a short time! Strings are the best!
Keep this up.

Thanks for the feedback. I am currently working on a full album with a dark theme like this. It's going to contain dark ambient tracks, some breakbeat works and more stuff like this particular track here.

I have 3 tunes finished right now and plenty of ideas on the way, so it should be finished some time this year...

I'd probably masturbate. That is, of course, unless there wasn't this song to download. I'll check it out and comment later

Ok, I LOVE everything, except for the kick and the bass. They don't seem to blend well with the other elements for some reason, they seem to belong to another track. The kick is rather loud too and takes away a lot of attention.

Apart from that, the track is brilliant.

I noticed the kick thing once I listened to it again today. There will be an updated version of this on the album... eventually.

listening:

nice kick.. i like the atmosphere of the track.. when the bass change it sounds a bit unclear.. i like the melody if the synth in the break, but not so much the synth itself.. but simple is bliss as well.. and the string-synth u add in the background in there sounds nice..

nice work, a bit muddy sound..

I wasn't expecting much until the note change at 3:00. Up until then, it was a solid enough trancer, but not a patch on My Darkest Hour. As has been said, bass is a bit shallow (I have it set to max on my sub, and it still sounded quite quiet). Overall, it does what it's supposed to, and I can't complain about much, to be honest. My Darkest Hour is still better, though. :P

I don't really know why you'd want to compare the two, though...

Wait til you hear it in context. I've got a wicked ambient/noise track that sequences perfectly between the two tracks.

Listening

Nice FX in the beginning. Nice sweeps. Very simplistic as you said. I like so far. That bassline is deep and scary.

1:30 Track is really rolling along at this point. Like the reverse claps thrown in there with the clap every 4 bars. It's nice.

2:00 Uh oh. I see wolf tracks now. Scary. Loving these erie strings and subtle stabbing synth.

2:30 Nice, good driving dark trance. I'm listening to these on my new headphones and things are sounding quite nice. Well balanced. That clap might be a little too quiet, not sure yet.

3:23 Scary. Dark melodic is much nicer than dark minimal. I'm liking this Nik.

3:51 Break down down down down. Bringing it back up again rather nice too. Scary strings! You really do a good job at capturing an erie scary tone.

What would be super cool is at approximately 5:16, instead of just another ambient little break. If we are indeed being chased by a wolf perhaps? Fading in a really agressive lead to freak us out.

Wait, lol. That's what's your doing.... I think... 6:14 Yea. I like that scary crunch back lead sound.

Nice outro too.

Very solid track man. I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to hear this album you're working on.

Downloading.. Hopefully this is a tune I can incorporate into a psy set.. w/ Producers permission of course.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on May-31-2006 08:33:

Sure. I think it could work in a psy set too.

Oh, and thank you too Adam

This track sounds nice. It's not muddy at all and it's easy to listen. After third minute two channels of keyboards are appearing. I like only the background keyboard. The other one is to loud and melody doesn't fit in the the feeling I had at the begining. Maybe it sounds better with other tracks you mentioned.
Anyway, technicaly everything is fine. I like listening this track. Good work!

Posted by NoisyNeil on May-31-2006 15:46:

this is certainly not your best work so far (but you're not trying to convince us that that's the case, so what am i going on about? ) however, i really like it. you've showed us that you don't need an awful much to make a proper track that sounds c o m p l e t e . you used the basic ingredients of a track and made a qualitywise good track and i like your whole ambiance around the track, like the way you started the thread, that gives it a little something 'extra'.. i like that!

nice track nik!

Because they're both of a similar genre? Anyway, I'm sure it will link up very well, you'll just have to send me the files so I can decide for myself.
