How much meaning does your life have?

Besides accumulating material goods and doing things to gratify yourself do you do anything else meaningful? If you died tomorrow what would you have to show for your existents on this planet? Besides your family and gf would anyone miss you? This might be too deep of a topic for the COR but I thought I'd rattle your cages for the fun of it.

I'm not saying I'm any better. Actually the older you get the more meaningless life looks. You get to see the whole cycle of ppl born, growing up, working, getting married, buying a house, having kids etc. When your younger you don't have the time to reflect of the grand scheme of things. Your more concerned with making your way in the world. Self-preservation can't fulfill your inner needs. Can't help but wonder if there is any more than this.

None whatsoever. I have made differences here and there, but truth is, not that many people would miss me in the long run, or even notice I was gone.

I just want to stay active, live comfortably, and die before my mind and body turns to mush, so as to not suffer the indignity of pissing myself because I couldn't make it to the toilet in time.

searching for a greater meaning to your life is a pointless and romantic waste of time. everyone wants to feel significant but statistically none of us will be. even the guy who trains his whole life to win an olympic gold, let's be honest no one's gonna remember his ass in 10 years!

so just accept that your time here is a gift and live to experience life as it comes while you're still young and free from kids, wife, career and mortgage. in the end we all agree that your time as a youth is more precious than that as a useless geriatic so don't waste away today thinking about life down the road cause nothing is guaranteed and we can all die tomorrow!

is that what happened with your dad? sore subject, im sry... i'm no drug addict though, so i won't have to worry too much about having kids like you

ooo a 5th grade burn! nostalgia.... i remember shooting heroin on the swings at lunch because being a drug junkie is clearly the only way to 'live life fully and without purpose'

it doesn't surprise me that you lack a sense of humor... and are alone.

why are you always trying to convince yourself that everyone here is hehind you on all your opinions? man if i was still a psych major i'd love to do a case study on all your forum behaviors from your paradoxical stance as a 'social club forum critic' to failed forum attention whore, trying to pigeonhole everyone, to trying to be my friend through aim then being embittered by rejection and lashing out like a fool, i mean there's so much material to work with!

I think the little things definitely count. I'm not a perfect person, I've wronged and hurt others. But I've also done a lot of good, and am 100% positive I've made a difference in some people's lives. I'm sure my existence will have a lot more impact once I'm practicing as a nurse. Until then I do the best I can in the little ways to try and make a difference. And sometimes it's the little things that in fact make the most difference....so who knows. I try not to be driven by my ego.
