This week's Top Gear: Konigigsegg CCX returns with wing! PIX *spoilers*

Koeniggsegg adds a tastefully-looking wing on the 800 something hp CCX and brings it back on this week's Top Gear episode. They say the new wing will reduce the 250 mph top speed of the "original" CCX due to drag, but the main concern was whether it could claim the Zonda F's #1 spot on the Power Lap Board.

I don't have a video clip for you just yet, but I'm sure someone will have uploaded the segment on youtube by the time you're reading this.




Ok on with the pics...

I must say I was a bit worried when Koenigsegg said they were going to add a wing to the original CCX because the car looked absolutely amazing wingless. So I was pleasantly surprised how well the new wing turned out on the car, and that Koenigesgesgg didn't go extreme and equip the CCX with a hideous spoiler like the one on the Zonda or McLaren F1.



This car is just visually perfect in every way. :eek3dance:

The "in house" Koenigsegg motor is a slightly overbore dry sump Ford 4.6 with carbon fiber plug wire covers and a carbon fiber timing cover.

Yeah, you can see the resemblance pretty easy. The valve covers are almost identical.

I remember watching the original Koeniggsegg episode before the wing and even then they were convinced that when it came back, it had the chance to top the charts...

THe Konig seemed soo much more stable through the corners. THe wing obviously makes a huge diff. I also think that the increased amount of time the Stig had in the car helped, considering its such a handfull. More practice with that type of car, is obviously going to result in lower lap times.

btw - they already had the Bugatti on the show (last year?).

time to watch this... i cant wait to see the stig drive the Veyron on the track

true. but they never tested it on the track. it was a race from italy to the uk against a plane (cessna).

i'm still surprised the cgt has such a slower time then the enzo. dissappointed too.

So awesome. The CCX looks so spectre-like in its forward appearance. Wonderful vehicle to look at.

Also, am I the only one who hates the look of the Z4 from the front? It looks like it's crying. And also, that Z4M still sounds like shit, thanks to that M3 engine.
