i dont like that high synth, its too loud and it feels a bit cold to me!
i like that sine ish thing in the break .
the bass might be a bit too noisy or crunchy?
it didnt feel really driving but it was driving though .
i dont really know how to make sounds warm, it just becomes warm to me

Posted by avengie on May-31-2006 13:00:

Well for me, theres nothing much wrong with it... But another layer of a warm mid pad will make it better IMO... I would add the decay of the reverb to about 3 to 4 secs and increase the reverb and the room size of the reverb to little high so it will be little dreamy..

Well, for me, theres nothing wrong with the synths tho... i dont know if others ears are better than mine but, i like it a little more dreamy....

Cheers and good Luck with the Track...

Yeah i agree the pads used seem quite cold - but this seems a really good song atm...nice kick & percussions as always from you..theres seems to be a bit crushed effect on one of the percussions im not too keen on tho...

..i think to make it sound more warming you just need more strings & choir pads in the second half of the song - to give it more power...i love that subtle synth on the breakdown that changes octaves - its sounding good mate

would you mind reviewing my latest track here rich,if youve got time

the bass sounds special, kind of crunchy, and i think it works well.. the melody is relaxing and calm.. i like it, the percs and stuff sounds very nice, the bright pad in the break there is pretty nice.. has a emotional feel to it..

i can hear where the inspiration is from though

nice work, i liked the track

nice work rich. sounds pretty much like the style i like.
very belearic and melodic trance.
your best so far imo.
im really liking this. only problem is the percussion effect you bring in at 1:23 i dont like sounds too cheap.
kick is awesome again. one day your kicks were so weak and now their driving. what did you do to change them?
await your final version.

What's up mate...

Damn this shitty myspace bitrate

I can't really give you any equing or mixing pointers then as it's hard to tell from myspace.

Anyway, I like this from the start, I like the way the melody goes, the pads are very cool in the background, and it's vintage Rich Gale bassline, though not a pad for a change
Like the percs at around 40 seconds.
Lose that high synth sound, it doesn't seem to belong on this track, it's a bit simple sounding. Nice new melodies that come in as well...hmm myspace is giving me streaming problems.
I think overall it could be a little more driving, not sure how to achieve it, perhaps some more driving percs or a sidechained bassline.
Anyway good luck with it mate, it's got the atmosphere, now make it go somewhere!
As for being cold sounding, I'm getting mixed vibes from it, it doesn't seem cold at all, actually quite warm sounding...yet it conjures up images of the Arctic
Don't mind my ramblings mate!

Hey rich. I really like that sineish sound. It sounds really good. I think if you made another lead sound and brought it in after you finish with the sineish sound, it would really drive the track. The track just seems very mellow to me atm. I absolutely love your percs, but I think it's them that is keeping the track so mellow. Great work, but like you said it has more work to be done.

sawsine thing sounds really sweet ..

makes me think of an early SystemF track actually!!
maybe its the pads.. which always sound perfect when you make them !

I looove that groove man !! sounds great around the 2 minutes!! just that piece ahh

percs are niiiice!! very nice fx! I hear one ive got myself hehe !

this sounds,
hey wait a minute is that a vanguard "hihat rythm???"?!?!?

anyway this sounds far more trancy than your usual technoish oriented stuff .

So...
This has changed alot since the clip i've heard.
The bassline is all new, more dirty and driving. It fits better than the first one too.
The first break is really good, very emotional.
Track goes on, quite minimal, i miss something, a little synth or anything that keeps my ears happy You should build up some subtle synth in the first break imo.
Second break, mm, there it is, the wonderful synth I love that sound, you know that Again, very emotional.

It's the most tranciest i've heard from you. One of the best of yours too

Seing forward to the final!!

Better.... I want the full quality version lol i hate the bitrate of myspace.....

Like it

Very intresting.

There's a lot of crunch in this one, really fresh!

I don't like what happens at 1:50 or something though. That lead is just out of place. You should take that out. Except from that, this is a really crunchy quality tune. Hmm.. For some reason that lead fits much much better when it comes in at 5:10. Very strange somehow.

Alot of things going on in this tune as well. Excellent.

Posted by richg101 on Jun-04-2006 18:44:

thanx guys!

Nice one Rich,

This ones got a really nice feel to it.
Very unconvencional sounds there but I think it works. Very refreshing.

Have to say that I would like to play this one out, if that's ok with you?

Great work!

Cheers
Karl
