Smiley DJ Black Day (2 versions)

Here are the two different track versions of the same composition I made a year ago. Tracks have no defined beginings and endings, because they are to be a part of a bigger set. I call this song "Black Day" next to the song "Black Winter Day" from hevy metal band Amorphis.

I have five versions of this song and yet I'm not satisfied. So I'll be happy to read your comments and sugestions.

Hey mate, reviewing as i listen...

1st link :
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
i like the bassline but the kick is a beat weak try and make it a bit harder. that ghost effect at 0:30 is kinda funny.. the silence moment at 0:58 is cool but make it a bit longer with some more spooky sounds. you have a interesting track here. i really would like to hear the finished version.

2nd link :
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
the spooky sound in the beginning is placed better then in the 1st link. the bassline sounds a bit cheap. the one from the 1st version is better.
now on 4:40 i start to hear some synths.. you seem to be afraid of using more percs and fx's... the bassline also sounds a bit to repetitive..
the lead synths sound cool but like i said it would have been nicer if you used more dark/spooky effects throughout the track.

overall i enjoyed reviewing (and thanks for reviewing mine) it needs a bit more work but its getting there. keep up the good work

i just have time to review one and i thought i'd go with the spooky one.

kick is really muddy first off....erie noises are pretty cool.
like the little dirty acid break with the voice riff, very cool.
like how its very minimal
think u need a little more erie fx and stuff thrown in to help transition, a little dry in that area.
that whistley sound 25% through sounds a little cheesy.
really like what u did with the bassline in the main break....
like the sounds u introduced after the break but u totally lose ur kick behind everything..gonna have to make some eq adjustments with ur sounds.
very interesting track though!

I really did use little fx on this song. And that muddy bass and kick is anoying me too. I'll try to fix that later. But at first song should be made thiner (especially melody) so the effects could be heard clearly. That's going to be a hard thing to do without loosing the point.

Thanx for rewieving guys. It's helpfull.
