Well, it was a stupid question. You can use pretty much anything to make basslines.

You could have the bass sounds of your top 5 favourite tracks and they probably wouldn't work in your tracks. That's the key - whatever works in YOUR mixes. |
Reaktor costs alot of money... my, my... alot of money...
I'm gonna buy a spankin' new stainless steel table saw tomorrow and ask: "how can I lathe a new leg-thingy for my stairs?"

new to the forums eh? Well don't let the detractors fool you, this is a cool pace to ask your questions, most of the time you won't get bagged like this. Just make sure you use the search button to see if your topic has already been discussed otherwise you'll cop more shit.
Anyway as for bass, well I assume your new to production, and even though I've not used reactor I ave seen it, and it's pretty comples for a beginer, but it does look like a great program so don't distress. maybe put it aside for a bit tho.
Bass is just the lower part of the frequency spectrum, so when you look at a piano it is the lower scale (left hand end), but with a synth, it depends on what the oscilators are set to. The higher the number the lower the note. This can be related to a pipe and the note it plays with its length. The longer the pipe, the lower the note will be if you blow across the end of it.
Effectively you can use any patch as already mentioned just make sure the right settings are on the Osc
it may also be useful to use some already existing patches and decontruct them (work back to nothing) to help you understand.
Good luck.
thank you very much i will give it a try and as for being put off its ok will take more then this lot to do that just a shame because i know alot of people would of left and not came back
i will remember that next time i use these boards
Hi There,
If you search through the previous posts on this site, I can promise you that there will be tons of info on using reaktor...
I personally used the "Search" for about a week and found loads of great stuff/help from the guys on here...
Most of the people on here know there stuff and some produce great tracks (take a min to check out the music production section)
Have fun and take time to write your future posts mate...
