Support each other? Not sure what you mean

By the "same old crowd" i meant that lately no matter what pictures I look at it's all the same people

First I think both you and Shaya are AWESOME photographers for the events you attend. However, I can't wait for you guys to snap some wicked pics of summer events at SONIC and This is London. Looking forward to this!

That crew of DJs have a following because one knows that they can expect to hear the Footwork/Zone type beats when they're spinning.

And after looking at those pics, there's a lingering question. Let's see who's going to ask it first

So tell me how exactly it is that you "support each other"??

Chinamon I don't know you at all, in fact never even been introduced, but please just hear me out on this one before you automatically jump all over this....

I have had this discussion with many people in the past and I really like to hear others opinions on this issue.
When you say that you go out and support each other what does that mean to you?
To me it means that you support the club by paying to get in. Right? Cause if you don't pay to get in you're not really supporting now are you...
It means paying for your drinks at the bar. Cause if your using the drinks tickets that a promoter or DJ friend gave youre not really supporting now are you...
In order for club owners to pay the DJs or promoters that you want to go out and support they need the money from the entry fee and the money they make at the bar to pay these guys...

WOW...disguised "attack" on chinamon that was sugarcoated...almost as insincere as a backhanded compliment!

i disagree, just because people have 'attacked' chinamon it doensn't mean everyone is out to do the same.

it seems to me that she's just genuinely asking him a question in perspective of what his view of supporting dj's/the scene is...

This wasn't directed at me, but my answer to this would be that by simplying being there, you're showing your "support".

My post was not directed to anyone specifically. It does say that I like to hear other people opinions on this. If it seems like it is directed to Chinamon because I quoted him and mentioned him then fine. I am also not saying that he doesnt pay to get in or his drinks, just wanted his opinion on showing support for each other

Even though I do agree with you that being there does show support you really arent supporting what your friends do IMO anyways. If the club does not pull in enough money in a night it tends to be very difficult to pay off those who helped you out and the DJ that you hired to play.

How do you think these owners pay their bar staff, their coat check staff, their door staff, their promoters, as well as many others. They cant if people dont spend money. Right?

Now I am not saying that everyone gets in for free or doesnt pay for a drink, but many in this scene dont. I have seen people try many things to get into a club for free (I know so and so). If you want these clubs to last you are going to have show your support by paying for shit not just by being there.

I think some of you guys ( and not just people from this thread, more from the other picture threads jason has posted...) need to stop bringing up stupid shit everytime he posts some pictures.

jesus people, it's pictures from a party.
thats all

I'd have to agree with this comment.

Promoters (and often djs) have parts of their wages paid based on how many people they can bring in for reduced or free cover. Having people in the bar = money spent on alcohol which does pay promoters and djs.

After all, getting into the club for free and having a few drinks is showing way more support than sitting at home while your djs friends play empty rooms and lose their nights. Frankly that's the sole reason why there aren't any trance nights with locals like there are with house... no lack of djs, just a lack of interest from people to go to any other club than the ones that get the big jocks in.

Keep up the good support Chinamon...
