Brad Copeland > M&S

...and I was really hoping that Miller would've been opening for Lalwler, after hearing reviews from other cities on how good he was opening for him for the lights out 3 tour.

thats what happens when you are one of the best in the city. you play everywhere.

ie. tiesto is considered the best in the world according to mixmag which is why he is playing EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

same shit, different pile.

as for nathan, yeah im happy to see him opening for lawler. nathan is pretty psyched about it too. looking forward to it.

copelands skills definately surpass those of m&s...

his sound is also alot fresher and more original...

why isn't copeland playing everywhere?

As much as M & S are one of the best house DJz in the city. I personally feel (IMHO) that the crowd they are drawing is too gino for my raver blood. Ever since Palazzo closed the gino's had to find somewhere to go.

hMMMMMMMM Hotel anyomne?

because m&s draw a bigger crowd than brad.
i think brad is a great dj but he doesnt have a large fan base like manzone&strong do because m&s have been in the industry for many many many years (ever since i was partying all ages).

Toatlly comparing apples to oranges here. For one, just because Brad hasn't been in Toronto as long as M&S certainly doesn't make him a new comer to the industry. I think having a 2 year residency at Stereo, and probably knowing that system better than anyone speaks volumes for Brad. M&S are very good at what they do...play for the commercial crowd that are out to have a good time and hear the tracks they like week in and week out. To be honest, we are very lucky to have the caliber of Brad as a resident here, and unfortunately the Toronto trend lately has been 'bottle service' clubs (for a lack of a better term) taking over the scene.

that is not something i am willing to post on a public site. lets just say that brad is quite content with a residency at stereo over TIL....who wouldn't be?

nah...I see his point also. Maybe it's the lack of new faces getting a chance to show there stuff in some of the more popular venues or the loss of places like System...but there is definately a pattern forming of a handful of DJ's becoming residents at almost every club. Now not to take anything away from them, because good for them, obviousely if I was a DJ I would want to play as much as I could. But for someone who is truly going out for 'the music', and want to hear new tracks, sounds, mixes, DJ's, etc...the choices are far and few lately. Brad not being a resident at TiL kinda solidifies my thinking now on this point more than ever...clubs (excluding Sonic) are really shooting for the mainstreamers.

ahahahha....thanks man. your choice of words is much better than mine. the closing of system does have a lot to do with it. this was a club who's concern was promoting new local and international talent. thats what i was used to and now i never go out because if i do its the exact same thing i saw the week before.

not to mention, when was the last time you said to yourself.."wow...what the hell was that?" after a set? I mean you always here "so and so were bang on as usual"...but when was the last time you heard a set that blew you away, and one that you couldn't ID like 90% of it?

I like M&S. They do a good job at playing house music but keeping it clubby enough to draw a few mainstreamers in. And without support of at least some of the mainstream, all we will read about is how such and such club that used to play house is now playing hip hop.

They draw a crowd, play fun house music, and are really nice guys.
