Cut it off... (Beatport Question)

I did a search, hopefully there isn't already a topic on this...

I just recently downloaded two Alex Stealthy songs...

1.) Violin
2.) Something Is Wrong Part 2

...but there is a problem, the ending is cut off! Does anyone know what happened?

Posted by jc on Jun-02-2006 03:51:

sounds like something is wrong..

Posted by nchs09 on Jun-02-2006 03:51:

email them? maybe the song doesnt have a proper ending?

Posted by stevieboy32808 on Jun-02-2006 03:54:

Yes email them. I had a similar technical problem where the tracks were mislabeled and I downloaded the wrong one. I emailed them and they refunded my money back onto the credit card and let me download the real one. Plus they fixed the labels.

the same has happened to me, on audiojelly.. just send an email, and they will fix it..

i'm having problems with beatport too. i ordered a bunch of tunes and one was completely a wrong mix and the other tune had a skip in it. i got a refund of the tune that was wrong. the other tune, they said there was no skip in it even though it's pretty fucking clear there is. anyway they re-encoded it and let me dl it again. didn't help, same skip still there. now i've sent them an e-mail about it again telling them it's not ok. let's see what they'll reply.

Thanks, I'll just email them when I get home today...

Too bad, those were good songs too...

And if the one with the skip in it was "Color my eyes"

mine does the same thing...

color my eyes was properly reencoded because of that...

A month after I emailed Beatport saying that they were missing two tracks off The Digital Blonde album they still havent fixed it

On the other hand, I downloaded a track that skipped from Audiojelly. I emailed them about it and they gave me two free tracks from that catalogue

Posted by Sanjoy on Jun-02-2006 16:01:

actually I bought colour my eyes from beatport yesterday... but i can't remember any skips in it, so i guess it has been fixed.. where in the song was it?

Posted by RJT on Jun-02-2006 16:21:

Yup, same thing has happened to me 5 times with Beatport. They're at least ussually good about getting back to me fairly quickly, but it still sucks.

Their website is a fucking pain in the ass in general too...

Posted by Spirit5 on Jun-02-2006 16:59:

I buy 80% of my tracks off of Beatport and only a few times have I encountered problems, with either too long of tracks (tracks that have a big pause either in the beginning or at the end of the track), which you can edit but still a bit of a pain. Also a few mislabeled files, one release I bought but didn't come until months later, and a few poorly encoded tracks. But I keep coming back to Beatport because they are cheaper then the other digital download sites and they have a good selection and WAVs (though I still download mostly MP3s, don't hear a huge difference). I actually prefer and have had less problems with AudioJelly (and the encoding of MP3s tends to be better) but since they are located in the UK, it costs more, but they do have a tendency to get releases in earlier and feature more promos and they have a back-catalogue from Lost Language...

well I guess Ive been lucky with beatport. I think Ive ordered something like 250 tracks and Ive never had any problem with any of them.

Posted by IcyLogik on Jun-02-2006 17:42:

Never had a problem with them, havent had a problem with resonant vibes either.

Theres just one thing I can't stand about it, you like, can't go back... If you click something, don't like it and you wanna go back a page, you click the little back button on the site and it takes you back to the start!

But other then that I like beatport... I just started to get into digital downloads... I have like 11 songs from them now, but this mistake had to happen...

Their website fucks up for me far too often.

Sometimes it won't let me log in, sometimes it will randomly log me out when I'm navigating around.

All in all it's just too much flashy bullshit and not enough functionality... IMO, there are much better routes they could have taken that would have been much more functional. Maybe they wouldn't look as nice, but then again, I don't even think their site looks that nice...

+1

i fucking hate flash sites and beatport is probably one of the worst i've seen so far.

and for those wondering what tracks i had troubles with:
peter martin pres. anthanasia - perfect wave (original mix) has a skip at about 8:51
and
airwave - save me (original mix) is actually the dyyni remix. they don't even have the full lenght original mix there at all, only an edit from the album.
