The Exorcist is the scariest since it was like the first of its kind.

Something Wicked This Way Comes was another good one.
Hellraiser is definitely the best of all those movies. Clive Barker knows how to do true horror.
Has anyone seen a 1978 movie starring Anthony Hopkins as a ventriloquist called "Magic"? It's a really interesting and tense horror film.

I haven't seen all of them, but there are really some lame movies on that list. The Omen and The Exorcist for instance don't even deserve to be called scary
but if I'd really have to pick one, It'll be Hellraiser

Out of the list i would probably choose Hellraiser.
Exorcist has some real freaky moments, especially the girls face.
Shining and the Omen are great films but are not one bit scary.
Evil dead is more comedy factor.
Chainsaw Massacre, isnt scary, but has that great scene when he grabs the girl and places her on the meathook.
American Warewolf In London, has some real scare moments, especially at the start of the movie when they are on the moors, and when he has those freaky flashbacks throughout the film, and also where that man is stalked to his death on the london underground.
Poltergeist has the chilling clown scene,
Saw, is quality and has some really great moments as well, when i watched it first really freaked me out!
Gremlins is the scariest movie ever made. I still don't walk close to Christmas trees.

somewhere between nightmare on elm street and poltergeist. imo, the latter made my entire generation uneven with clowns.
