doesnt armin know hes corny some times?

so i was listening to a trance energy recording with armin as well as his ibiza or armada mix or whatever.

he has these gay ass story lines before his liveset begins. anyone know what im talking about?

for instace some ladies voice with robotic sounds might come on and say
"at the beginning of time there was a hero who saved the world with his music. he came down from the heavens and laid down his turntable to unleash what is known....as....pause...more pause....trance. he has lived more than the average person and is impervious to aging. he is indestructible and can drink 5 cases of beer without throwing up. he can also party in new york city and make an appearance in LA at the same time. how? he is....ARMIN VAN BUUREN"

Last time I heard vocals like that.. was in the early episodes of ASOT.. like in the 90s or something. Saying he plays Trance, Techno & Progressive. Well, whatever. Simply ignore them if you don't like it

I'm honestly not all about vocals in tracks. But I will play them as long as it flows with the songs. If ya listen, I hope you enjoy it.

Well I have heard and seen similar phrases but not only Armin, other DJ's as well. I dont think its the DJ's preference it may just be something that Trance Energy does as like an intro for the upcoming DJ that is going to perform to make his entrance.

This has nothing to do with Armin... these are the things they use at big events like this... European events do it almost all the time, particularly the really large ones like Sensation and Trance Energy

He also did this kind of stuff on ASOT 200. At least it's only in the beginning and not like the emcee that follows Tiesto around annoying everyone throughout the set.

that's from the sensation white party probably and they do that for every DJ, he doesn't ask for it

Armin's a dork. A lot of these DJ's are. He's a dork who just happens to be a rich and famous DJ . Those things are corny... they're probably supposed to sound cool but they're funny as hell IMO, but if he was stripped of his fame and money, I wouldn't be surprised to find some average Joe nerdy audiophile. I'm not criticizing either. I think most people who have a passion for something usually become nerds in that particular subject. Everyone's got something a little quirky about them and I think it comes out in Armin being a cornball sometimes. Shows that at heart he's probably a lot closer to being a normal person than an arrogant mega DJ.

I remember he said this one thing that made me really laugh-out-loud at work.. It was live on one of his ASOT episodes, late 2005.

- " Get ready to trance in your pants! " ??

Something with "trance in your pants". Does't really bother me at all to be honest. What's funny about it was how candid it was.. and the fact that he was on live radio, there was just no way that part of his speech could have been edited.

BTW, typical Intro(s) in the Sensation, TE parties.. corny.. but that's the intro they use. And it's not ONLY Armin.. in fact several of my sensation sets have those 1-2.5 minute robotic speaking intro's, which I just fast-forward through them anyways.

And trust me, those intro(s) are NOT AS ANNOYING AS THE MC that follows Tiesto around, as Groundhog Boy stated. one time I heard him FAKE ECHOs on the MIC.. hahah, i mean.. WTh!!?

i actually like the robotic sounds.... of course as long as its kept short and minimal, not like sensation where it sometimes tend to get annoyin especially back in 2001 or 02 i think

I hear ya.. but there's one I heard that was opened for Yves Deryter, that took 2.5 minutes.. which I thought I personally was overdone.. I'd prefer if the intro was kept short.
