BT Tonight in San Francisco (Roll Call)
So who will be going? Does anyone know what tracks he has been mixing lately? Well I will try to make it tonight.. who else is going?
Usually begins his set with just intrumentals he makes, then slowly transitions to songs with vocals/classic BT stuff.
i'll be there.

is there a dress code at mighty?

Don't hate on peeps doing Ableton as long as they do thing with it during their sets. ![]() Anyhow, BT has burned me out seeing him live. The last few times have been total disasters. Especially the last time where the whole place waited until after 3am for the dude to come on and then watch him playing for only little over a damn hour and then taking off. That really, really pissed me off. He's never been technically sound live...but he would just bring so much energy back in the day. I love how when you read his blogs, etc he just seems like a super nice person. And then you hear peeps physical encounters with him and most of the time he just comes off as a snobbish guy. It's unfortunate. The guy is fucking talented. Maybe we just don't understand the type of person he is and are expecting too much. But that's not why I don't want to see him. He just doesn't bring it anymore live, it seems. Seems like he's focused on so many things he's lost focus of what made him great back in the day. There's that, and the fact that I am trying to get over the flu (the flu in June, go figure... ugh.). |
Actually ive heard the same from alot of people that BT is kinda like Tiesto, in the fact that he is too caught up with fame and popularity, to pay attention to who actually made him popular (his fans). I for one would have loved to go check this out @ mighty, cause they never have anyone good playing there (big names, not local talent), and the club is sick.
I dont think this is the last SF will see of BT tho, so im not too worried
Rich lemme know how it went.
bt is the barry bonds of dance music?

I was really looking forward to BT last night, went down there with some friends got there around 11:30, the music was so so, I guess it was M3 on the tables until BT went on at 1:30 wasn't really feeling the tracks but the crowd was buzzed and pumped just waiting for BT to go on.
BT started out great for the first half hour or so then my friends and I started getting bored. The music didn't progress it just stayed the same for over an hour, we stayed hoping that he would play some of the tracks he's known for... but no luck, the place started clearing out around 2:30, I think people were starting to sober up and realize how boring the music was.
Over all very disappointed
I love BT as a producer, and he is a friendly guy, just don't be all in his face and disrespectful or he will probably be a dick to you.
Back when he toured for ESCM he was really amazing to see perform live but I haven't been impressed by his laptop symphony performaces at all and judging from this latest performance I hate to say it's only gotten worse.

He had nothing but a big smile on his face. He waas dancing and jumping around his whole set. He also pulled us up on stage for a picture. |

| Originally posted by PicottoIsGod you have no idea how happy i am for you, and the fact that BT actually did all those things and sound like u hada great time so kudos to you dude.... sorry 2 say my opinion about BT remains the same.....BT,Oakenfold,DeepDish, are what i call "show" dj's.....not taking anything away from the talent that they manifest or any work they have done til this day.....they are some major headliners, true. But wen it really comes down to it , theyre profession is sick tracklists/stellar productions/killer remixes...aka {studio dj's}..i feel wen it comes down 2 raw, uncut, no holds bar spining these names are far from it.....i respect anybody else's opinion but if you were 2 ask me, this is what i would say.... and by the way diskodave, one doesnt change overnight....just because he decided to give the crowd a lil more attention, and interact, doesnt mean hes this devoted dj all of a sudden.....i bet mostly for act... |

| Originally posted by diskodave True, I agree with you. I think I had very low expectations for last night due to all the bad posts/reviews about BT. Going into Mighty with low expectations made it very easy for him to suprise me. I dont go to EDM shows to critique every single thing about a DJ, I go to have fun too. I am not one of those guys that have a 'BAD' time if the DJ doesnt amaze me. Overall I was satisfied with BTs set, but I also think its good to hang around easy going friends. If you hang around people that are too critical... then it can be draining on your whole night. |
i went into last night taking into account all the negative people have been saying about bt: poor mixing, no energy, no crowd interaction, unfriendly and snobbish. i guess i saw a different dj last night: the energy was definitely there the whole night, he was interacting and feeding off the crowd a lot more than most djs i've seen and he was very friendly, happy and having fun himself. didn't see you in there james, but everyone around me in the crowd seemed to be enjoying themselves in spite of the suffocating heat inside. i was hoping to hear some classic bt tracks myself, and i guess if you went there for that you left disappointed, but i was able to have fun with the housey electro set he played instead.
