Underworld - pearls girl

What do you think about this track?
I think is beatiful...
Can someone tell me what kind of trance is that..
And... Similar tracks?

fucking brilliant tune.
A tune like it, you won't find many at all.
what bout cowgirl ?
was kinda similar i guess :P

most twisted lyrics ever.

top tune.

nothing quite like it.

The track that got me into my lifelong Underworld addiction.

All thanks to this soundtrack:

Haha! As I can recall (and my memory's shakey nearly a decade on), Pearl's Girl was, like, the only decent track on there. Everything else just seemed like it had either already appeared on "This Is Electronica" type releases, or was a very poor rendition of 'electronica'.

Wouldn't call it trance, the genre its closest to would be the all encompassing Techno.

Awesome tune, second only to 'Banstyle:Sappy's Curry' as the best Underworld tune IMO.

As for similar tracks try 'Dinosaur Adventure 3D' 'Moaner' and 'Kittens' all great Underworld tunes that are roughly in the same area as Pearls Girl.

Hahaha, I love this soundtrack! First introduced me to Orbital and Underworld

But yes, Pearl's Girl is one of my fav Underworld tracks. I just bought the Everything, Everything DVD and it's awesome!

Rest assured there's nothing else quite like it.

I recommend you pick up every single album and anything else you can get your paws on

I actually think it's pretty solid... The Sneaker Pimps, Lucious Jackson, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk (this album is the reason I bought "Homework"), the Bowie track, Everything But the Girl (easily one of my favorite ETBTG tracks), and the Duncan Sheik track were all ace.

Banstyle is very nice to relax to. I love Underworld for their wreckless energy.

Pearl's Girl sounds like a drum and bass version of Born Slippy. Personally I like this track better than Born Slippy because it doesn't trick you into thinking that it's a trace song. When I heard Born Slippy for the first time I had high expectations for the track because of all the hype and once I heard those familiar chords I thought the rest of the track was going to be gold. Unfortunately, after those beautiful chords the track detours in such a weird direction that it really left me disillusioned as to what Slippy could have been. All I know is that Born Slippy is not trance and I don't like it. With Pearl's it's a different story because I am not duped with any trance elements to begin with and I enjoy it for what is whatever that may be because I'm not that good with naming genres.

So?

I think Born Slippy is much better off as the original than the countless remixes and mashups, ESPECIALLY the trance ones-

Like I said, my memory's a bit shakey. I may just be recalling my disappointment in it being 'just another electronica album', riding the hype set out by the Hackers soundtrack, than the actual quality of songs.
