Keith O'Brien - Note to Self (dub mix) (full track 320kbps) (Dark/Proggy)

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

This is a project I've been working on for a bit. I had a bunch of EQ issues; too much stuff going on, and everything sounded really muddy. I just couldn't see this going anywhere good, so I decided to somewhat salvage it into something listenable and deleted a bunch of stuff (including the main leads) - hence the dub mix.

Hey bro, nice track, one problem, the bassline, where is it?

intro sets an amazing atmosphere.
percussion work is amazing!
the kick is operating on way too high of a freq...lotta kick with no lows.
sounds like u threw a stereo imager on the kick or something....
the style of this track is right up my alley.
like'n the windy pads in the b.g....
again... kick really letting down the flow of the track for me.
break just started...damn that is sweet.
kick in is really nice, pad begins to get a little loud.
again kick is non existent.
yet ur track is simply amazing....
think u need to look at leveling a lot of the channels, some things don't have to be so muchc in the listeners face....thats what is giving a lot of ur muddiness at times.
This track is simply genius, and deserves to sound its best.
I'd would love to have a crack at remixing this, i think our style would very much compliment each other.
PM if ur interested.
I have one sample up now and can show u some more.
if not, no worries.

amazing track dude !

Thanks for the feedback. I know what you mean about the kick - I really had alot of trouble with EQs in this track. Problem is, I kept adding and adding, and in the end I had 79 instruments! So everything got really muddy, and it was very difficult to try and get everything to fit right in the mix, especially the kick seeing as I added that in the end (and I probably should've started with it).
