Arrow Thoughts on the Axis 4

quote:
2 seamless loops with 3 hot stutter starts, Tap-in (BPM) beat counter
BUT it has no FX, im not sure on teh sound quality or the reliability of the player. it is dirt cheap ($200 USD) and thats what turns me on to it. If I get two is it worth saving 100-200 from getting a Numark CDN88? I know there is another 'suggest a cdplayer thread going on but this is different cause im not looking at $600-$1200 players, im looking for a $4/500 setup.

Never used one, i dont think alot of people here have risked it. A few have though.
From being numark reliability wont be too great, neither will the "feel".
I would say go with pio cdj200s for abit more cash.
If you realy need something cheap stantons new cd players are on clearance price at www.djdeals.com.
I just wouldnt go for the axis cd players.

yea thats what iv come to see now. what are the general feelings about rack-mounted dual-CD players? exe the Numark CDN88?

First off the stanton cd decks totally suck (at least my mate has had like 3pairs all fuck up on him) my other mate got the axis cd players, not sure on the model number. Its deffo a step up fromthose and he has problems with skips. They are good CD decks, but tend to skip a lot for whatever reason.

I use a battered pair of CDj500s I got the pair for 250 quid which is a bargain. They have worked perfectly, except when i took them too a club and the vibrations shook them to bits :s.

My advice, go pioneer for cd decks. OR denons.

Pio 200s man. you can get a good pricematch at guitarcenter if you hunt for a good price online. and they're amazing pieces of machinery. the only 'entry-level' cd deck which has 0.02% pitch resolution.

teh 200s seem to be the most recomended for entry. damn this hobby is expencive! but thats why im getting paid for it this fall thanks guys.
