Do you believe in God?

this should be an interesting turn out. lol

i voted no.

*edit* - i should have voted for option #3

Posted by VERTiG0 on Jun-06-2006 15:31:

My favourite part is the "Christ, no!" option. Hahah, how fitting. I think.

Voted don't know, don't care, don't think about it.

It seems like you're always on cold meds. ARE YOU?

I believe in God. I'm not super into church and religion and such. But I do know that I believe in God. I think I'm just in the young, rebellious stage that doesn't really know what to believe for sure.

I don't go to church, but I was raised in a church, and I know when I get older I want to raise my kids in a church. When they get old enough to decide if they want to go or not, I won't force them to, but I still think it teaches good morals, you meet good people (I have a lot of good memories in my youth group years - a lot of which didn't even have to do with church stuff...it was just hanging out, camping, travelling...)

I think you have a problem Jeff. We're here for you...and so is God.

no, it's just when i AM on them, i get completely loopy and end up posting about it for some reason..... i think it's also to justify some of the gross/rediculous posts i make while under the influence.

back to the topic at hand, i think it really has to do with how you are raised as to whether or not you end up believe in god. i personally never went to church, never read the bible, and saw all of the wars and bullshit involved with religion so i think i've always viewed it as a negative.

My thoughts are as follows: The tighter the leash, the wilder the dog.

Posted by simms327 on Jun-06-2006 15:39:

perhaps change "do you believe in god"

to

"do you beleive in a higher power/supreme being"

xenu ftw.

i thought thats what people meant when the said 'god', and instead of saying 'im praying to a higher power/supreme being', they just cut it down to god for short.

I never think it matters until people start pushing their views on others, or justify harm caused against others as being righteous due to their beliefs.

Option 1 is theist.
Option 2 is atheist.
Option 3 is agnostic.

It's a bit limiting, but #3 describes me well enough.

aye... which means I have a helluva lot to answer for

I voted Yes. However I don't believe in this "external being" that religion has created.

I believe God is a concept. I believe I am God. I believe each and everyone of us is our own "God".

Who else is Omnipotent? Is ultimately forgiving for their actions? and who else determines your destiny?

God is all of us.

God- yes, The world is just too wonderful and complicated a place to have evolved by chance. Might not be in the image we think though.

Religion- no, Anything too many people get together corruption is sure to follow. Ex. catholics cant eat meat on Friday, not because god said so but because the fishing industry was hurting, paid the pope off. Also see indulgences, crusades, the Christmas tree.

Aliens- yes, the universe is too big a place for us to be the only ones. Maybe they did a little god playing on earth.

I also believe that the "god(s)" and "profits" each religion pray too are probably on the same team and either laughing at our squabbles or really pissed at our wars over religious supremacy.

God - yes
Religion - No

Posted by CAKE on Jun-06-2006 16:04:

This is my opinion and I don't want it offend/influence anyone, but I don't believe in God, I believe that religion was invented by man to give meaning to life and to avoid chaos also to give ppl something to live for.... people need hope and an explanation for the unexplainable and a reason why there alive. If people had nothing to live their life would have no meaning to life and there would chaos. It also gives people a false sense that life has a greater meaning then your born u mate u die.. I have come to terms with this
