attn: those of you that have partied in Vegas...`

anybody here ever heard of DJ Luxor in vegas??? He messaged me on myspace asking me if I remembered him back in colleg when we ran track together for a few weeks before he moved away. I remember him being a compulsive liar back then. I never believed anything he said. Anyways, in the message he sent me he was trippin out because I am a dj...and he goes on to tell me that he is a DJ in vegas and works for MTV. I read his myspace and djlist page and it sounds like total bullshit. I was wondering if anyone here has heard of this guy. I wanna call him out on this BS.

RE: No Subject
Body: honestly...any of that info on your sites true? You just said you moved away to KC to run track. But on djlist it says you went to UCSB. But back then in 2002 u moved out of the area. I searched for you on google as DJ Luxor and didn't find anything. My friends party in Vegas all the time and they've never heard of DJ Luxor. Faarsheed hell yeah. But not Luxor. Ive never heard of Xanadu or Teardrop Records and I keep up with the music scene. So tell me the truth homie. You make all this up?

FROM DJ LUXOR'S MYSPACE PAGE

Yes thats right...once again, MTV DJ of the year for 2006! Thats the 4th time.

Jon Byrd, aka: DJ Luxor, started out at age 10 with a synth machine in his dad's recording studio. Now 13 years later he is still pumping out new sounds and slamming floors with his bass, and melodic mixes. He has been recognized by URB magazine as being one of the top most requested "New Names" on the west coast, and voted 3rd overal in requested DJ's. He has a variety of sounds with heart stopping beats, and soul finding rhythms. He has traveled all around North America, and even a few appearances over-seas.

"I have so many sounds...just when my name is starting to get known in one genre, then I switch sounds...or even move regions completely. I would rather one or two people at every party, in every room to say 'I think I have heard of you' then everyone in only one room to know me."

Growing up in Las Vegas, DJ Luxor learned the excitement of the stage at an early age. He then moved to Southern California where he started his career in the ever popular LA scene. Luxor then made his home in Destin Florida, where he learned a new sound known as "Florida Breaks". Luxor quickly mastered the breaks, and went on have three tracks in the top ten charts. One of them peaking at number one.

Dj Luxor is now a full time DJ and producer. Luxor has produced tracks for some of the biggest names in the industry, including Brittany Spears, O-Town, and many others. He has been nationally recognized in some of the countries top publications. Luxor now has two clubs named after him, where he was made honorary resident DJ.

AWARDS:
* 3rd Most requested DJ on the West Coast
* Top Ten DJ's on the East Coast
* MTV Spring Break DJ of the Year 2002
* MTV Spring Break DJ of the Year 2003
* MTV Spring Break DJ of the Year 2005
* MTV Spring Break DJ of the Year 2006 **NEW!**

WOW WOW WOW WOW I love compulsive liars. 3rd most requested DJ on the west coast??? I never knew there was such an award!!! A number one single??? Two clubs named after him?!?!?! LOL LOL LOL. Tiesto doesn't even have a club named after him! He is even recognized by URB magazine as being one of the most requested names on the west coast.

My favorite thing to do with compulsive liars is to throw out a lie bigger than theirs to get them to top it and then keep going back and forth with the most exaggerated stories just to blow thier mind.

DJ LUXOR'S BLOG

A move that should have been very difficult to transfer was made surprisingly simple thanks to my new family at Teardrop Records and Entertainment. I have taken several proposing labels through a testing period to see what ideas and opportunities could be brought to the table. After meeting with Teardrop, I knew within the first 15 minutes that we were headed in the right direction. I sat down with the Executive CEO and the Executive President, along with several other members of the team, to discuss the future of the label, and my potential part in the family. There innovative ideas, and marketing concepts were right on track with the direction I was taking my music.

IT'S A FREAKING BLUES LABEL!!! LAFF OUT LOWD!!!!

Caught in a lie. I am going to rip this guy apart for you Curly

Dunno

Apparently he also served in Iraq which has not effected his DJ career at all. I am totally going to blow SvD's mind on Saturday and request something from Dj Luxor, or better yet I will track down Peter and request that he book DJ Luxor. And by the way n00bs, that massive casino on the strip is also named after him.

not only that but the Egyptians not only built those massive pyramids...but they built a time machine and travelled to the future and were so inspired by DJ Luxor spinning in front of 12,000 people that they went back and built a temple for him...The Luxor..

Posted by Boomer187 on Jun-06-2006 17:43:

im about to travel back in time to build a monument in his honor.

Posted by Electrophile on Jun-06-2006 17:43:

THE STARGATE!!!!

Posted by Electrophile on Jun-06-2006 17:44:

I also love how he has all sorts of pictures from Sensation White on his page as if he played the event LOL.

Posted by SVGmethod on Jun-06-2006 17:48:

he lived in Santa Barbara for 2 weeks. He was born and raised in Kansas. I believe in 2002 he was a freshman or sophomore in college. Theres pics on his myspace of him being the Marines. So that means if he went to the Marines in 2002, he would have just barely gotten out earlier this year. Check this out on his djlist page:

"Growing up in Las Vegas, DJ Luxor learned the excitement of the stage at an early age. He then moved to Southern California where he started his career in the ever popular LA scene. Now everyone has heard that the rave scene is a cultural melting pot, and here is a good example. DJ Luxor attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a degree is Business. He interned as a CPA, and has goals of being a stock broker. Business man by day, and raver by night."

So he was in Iraq and getting a degree at UCSB and interning and dj'ing at raves in LA? LOL.

I went to UCSB and never heard of any big time DJ's going there. LOL. The only known dj/producer that goes to UCSB is Amurai/Manvel (Empire State Recordings).
