I was quite disappointed. In my opinion apart from one good track the whole set was just some boring thumping without any melody at all!.
In addition to this set from Trance Energy 2001 I have only heard Mauro Picotto's, and it's the same case with his set too. Where are all the tunes and melodies??
I've listened to all the sets from Trance Energy 2000 and they were way better than the ones I've heard from this year's event so far.
Could someone who has heard all the sets from this year's Trance Energy tell me did any DJ play any "real" trance, so I'll know which sets to download. I don't want to hear more of these sets similar to Gielen's and Picotto's that just make your ears go numb.
The Announcer
I thought the sets we're all alright. Mauro showed up John by playing a few of the songs he spun and spun them better. I don't know which person played first, I liked Mauros better though. The duo with the drums is fat though. Straigh up. ahaahahaha you know what though!
That announcer cracks me up! In all the sets. "Make some noise out there!" "Hands in the air people!!!" Just screamin at these kidz every couple minutes. I can hear people in the background (with my headphone's on) yelling "Shut up" and so on. At the start of John's set w/ the drums he yells, "Me and you for the next 90 minutes" pauses.. "ARE YOU READY?!!!!" Some girl yells from the crowd "Your on CRACK!" Some guy, "I know"... What made me want to post this just now is because I just listened to it again and near the end when he won't shut up during the closing song (Only really good trance song played) Some kid yells something like "Shut up I'm rolling". Its all peacefull and he breaks in yelling "Hands in the air" Blah blah blah, he just keeps his mouth rolling, maybe he should take one and dance dammit. Go _talk_ to someone on the floor. Ha. peace out.

Mybad, It was 2am and I guess my mind was slippin'. Ohh well...
This set is freakin awsome!!! Picotto has a style about him that sets him apart from the other lame ass DJ's... I don't know about you but whoever said that it was a boring set has to be listening to this on some crappy ass no bass speakers....I had it playing on my huge Studio speakers and it's some of the loudest bass you will hear in dance music.....Really kickin

What the hell was that? He doesn't even mix!!! SHit I could do what he did no problem. Also what was with the big fuck up ant the end where he sped the record up and then cut it!?!?!? Is that how this guy usually spins? He doesn't even bother to put on his headphones!!!!!! HORRIBLE!

That was his ending ....It wasn't a fuck up....anyway, it's called style.....No bangin the drums together .... Fast cuts with lots of in your face action He's a former DMC mixing champion my man, I think he knows what he's doin, and like anybody else with style eithier you like it or you don't... I think it's the bomb
It has no continuity. I don't care what he had won. It sounded horrible. If that is what you call style than I prefer my dj's styleless (is that a word?).

Does anyone have this insane set or even know any of the songs on his set Live 2-17-01 @Trance Energy.
Damn..wat an amazing set..this guy is brilliant
I loved how he brought out Komodo in the set..fucking crowd was going nuts! And Picotto even broke up samples from this raggae song around the 70:00 mark, forgot the name of that song was it was an amazing mix in my opinion.
I cannot wait for his June appearance in Twilo....

I really enjoyed this mix. Lots of good moments, mostly all in the second half of his mix. Now, if that stupid guy could stop interupting the music every now and then; it would have been a lot better. Jeebus, thank God the clubs I go to don't have such feghs in the main room

tried several times to download by clicking on 'Direct Download', file couldn't be found. last two times, got 'Error: Access Denied' msg. what's up??
