Is this an Xone:92 SCAM?

"Hello,
Thank you for your e-mail.
My units are brand new in original factory box,all accessories are included with 1 year full warranty from the manufacturer.
The product can be bought now at the price of 750usd/unit.
When it comes to the shipping and handling, I will pay them because the package is delivered from Europe.
Shipping is something you shouldn't worry about because I believe it is my
responsibility to deliver the items safely to your home.
I will use UPS 2days air service (with insurance and 15 days return policy).
The payment I accept is Western Union money transfer.
I chose Western Union's as a payment method because they have always served our
needs in a professional manner. We consider promptness a vital condition of the modern
e-Commerce market.
If you are interested to buy this product ,we can make this transaction through
eBay and is 100%safe for both. For our protection we will do this deal trough ebay and our transaction will be supervised by eBay Safe Harbour Team.
Thank's and if you agree with my terms please mail me ASAP."

This is the pic he submitted to me after my request with original filename. I am hosting the pic on my server.

Run for the hills.

Western union? No fucking chance.

I bet he has an AOL email address right? Link me to the auction please and I will investigate.

Scam.

Posted by Greedy on Jun-07-2006 16:49:

if this is a scam, this one sounds really tempting since he wants to go through EBAY and Western Union.

Does anyone have any experience with being scammed while using Western Union and/or EBAY? Would I be able to get my money back, etc?

Posted by Freak on Jun-07-2006 16:50:

Auction/seller link please.

Posted by Greedy on Jun-07-2006 16:50:

yea normally i would think this is a huge scam because:

1. His email is [email protected]
2. Price is unbelieveable
3. Its coming from "Europe," (not that I dont trust Europeans)
4. He wants to pay for shipping. . .

Posted by Freak on Jun-07-2006 16:52:

Posted by Greedy on Jun-07-2006 16:54:

I believe his user name is DJElectromix

I asked him to relist his Xone:92 back on EBAY so we can check him out.

Posted by Freak on Jun-07-2006 16:54:

right gimme 5 mins

edit: no user listed uner that name...... closest match is ' djelectrix' and hes not a seller past or present- only a buyer, so im thinking its not him

i think that answers your questions right there.

and even if it were legit, it would not come with a warranty, so he's also a liar.

Posted by Freak on Jun-07-2006 16:58:

No ebay account has the registered email address of [email protected]

?

(i know ebay inside and out- im a power seller )

All i need is a fairly recent item number, or a user name.

Posted by Greedy on Jun-07-2006 17:00:

ill wait for the dude to email me back with the EBAY link.

I did some research on Western Union and they dont provide very much, if any, protection. Instead they recommend only using Western Union with people you know.

Posted by Freak on Jun-07-2006 17:02:

Western union- the scammers choice. Dont do it- you might as well set fire to a bundle of cash in your yard and piss on it

Posted by Greedy on Jun-07-2006 17:05:

Thanks for the help man! I knew this was too good to be true.

Posted by Freak on Jun-07-2006 17:10:

use this to have some fun with him....

ive done it before- sent them a fake western union notification scan, so they waste half a day going to the place to pick it up and there is nothing there.
Works a treat on scamming tossers from nigeria

If it's too good to be true, it is.
I'm very weary of ebay now, having recently read some stories of scammers. The Western Union thing is an obvious sign.

Posted by Danila on Jun-07-2006 17:52:

western union + WICKED low price + europe = probably a scam.

I enjoy reading stories of people messing around with scammers such as p-p-p-powerbook one.

Posted by simms327 on Jun-07-2006 18:09:

scam pure and simple

and if they offer to do it via ebay, they have probably hacked somebody's acount, most likely a dormant one.

Posted by Greedy on Jun-07-2006 18:12:

yea i would love to scam scammers.

Posted by cryo on Jun-07-2006 18:37:

ive seen a couple xone92s on ebay that have riduculous prices like 150$ish. definately a couple scams out there

Don't EVER buy ANYTHING via western union from someone online, unless you know them personally. When they send you a box of rocks you will have no recourse.
