Why isnt this terrorism suspect being prosecuted under hate crime laws?

So they deport Ernst Zundel for preaching that the holcaust didnt exist. But no hate crime charges for this piece of shit?

Whats wrong here?

Hes alleged to have preached hatred against Canadians and praised the work of al-Qaida.

New information is coming to light about the man who may have been the biggest influence in the alleged terror plot that has shaken Toronto and Southern Ontario.

A man who listened to the sermons given by 43-year-old Qayyum Abdul Jamal claims he heard the oldest suspect of the 17 arrested last Friday give speeches that were filled with hate at a Mississauga mosque.

Jamal was a regular at a storefront house of worship in the city, although he was never a true religious leader.

Faheem Bukhari, a director of the Mississauga Muslim Community Center, claims Jamal's tone had grown increasingly vitriolic as he gave his views on the treatment of Muslims in the Middle East.

He recalls that at least six of those arrested in the plot were among his attentive audience.

"These youth were very fun-loving guys, soccer-loving guys, and then all of sudden they were not associating with guys they used to," Bukhari recalls. People around him knew he was very extreme.

The Centre director remembers hearing Jamal tell his impressionable audience that the Canadian Forces were going to Afghanistan to rape women."

The mosque has quickly and strongly condemned Jamals alleged opinions, and has distanced itself from any calls for violence.

Law enforcement officials are concerned that the members of the group appeared to have turned from everyday Canadians to alleged fanatics bent on possible violence in such a short period of time.

They indicate more arrests are likely as the probe into the activities of those accused continues.

Some of my friends used to live at Ernest Zundel's house a couple years back. It was creepy as fuck! You could see where the video cameras and speakers were outside the door, barbed wire around the backyard, crazy locks - one was in the back bedroom where if he turned it it would lock everydoor in the house, and this creepy room in the basement with maps and newspaper articles and shit that the landlord eventually locked up.

Didn't the Russians do this with their 'undesirables,' but sent them to Siberia?

no doubt the guy was a weirdo and talked shit...

but why is he any different from a guy who preaches hate against canadians?

All Zundel ever did was tell people that the holocaust didnt happen. I dont recall him ever planning on blowing anything up or advocating violence. At least not that ive ever read anyways.
