Gatecrasher

Name one tune that defines Crasher to you & brings back loadz memories

Posted by gizzymcg on Jun-08-2006 12:01:

Go listen to Matt Hardwick's Resident Transmission CD's. They are definitive to the "Gatecrasher sound"

Posted by DJ HARN on Jun-08-2006 13:22:

bullet in the gun. The music video was shot there as I recall, so it always reminds me of it.

Posted by alexlosy on Jun-08-2006 13:28:

push - universal nation ( ferry corsten remix )

This sounds so damn industrial it's unreal!

Posted by JBDreamerie on Jun-08-2006 14:22:

the whole experience cds
more specifically feeling the sunrise (up mix) - g&m project; that was probably my fav track on there

and also eternal (although this reminds me more of ibiza's children

Would you like to explain why? Ask anyone who went to Gatecrasher what DJ's and what tunes really defined it when it was right at its peak. Scott Bond and Matt Hardwick were Gatecrasher according to almost all of my English friends.

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Jun-08-2006 16:05:

I don't have to 'ask' anyone who went, I was there to see it for myself. The back end of 2002 - 2003 trance, like that played on the Resident Transmission CD's, was NOT the defining sound of Gatecrasher.

Christ, your 'english friends' couldn't be more wrong. In fact, it was this time period and sound that was the beginning of the end of Gatecrasher. It went monthly in September 2002 (around the release time of the first Resident Transmission CD) and slowly went downhill until it's total demise in May 2003.

The '98/99 sound was when Gatecrasher was at it's peak. MichaelBoogerd! has it right. Check out Red, Black, and also Wet. THIS, was the defining sound of Gatecrasher.

Fair play to you mate. Just didnt see why you had to come and say "all i do is talk shite on here" though.

I'd have to guess that he genuinely thought you do talk shit

my suggestion would be johnny shaker - pearl river

Posted by DFOP04 on Jun-08-2006 18:33:

crazy malamute - free 2 ride

proper bond tune back in the day, featured more than once on gatecrasher compilations, as did a lot of tunes, wether this is a bad thing or not...

i still stand by the best trance album ever
tune after tune

Posted by Stanza on Jun-09-2006 13:59:

Red wins, hands down

Posted by DFOP04 on Jun-09-2006 14:36:

wet gets my vote, the time it came out, the sound was so distinctive, first edm album i bought, is what got me into edm.

so many tunes. 4g, the hymn, pueblo blanco, cream, 831, free 2 ride, orange theme, take you there, reincarnations, to name a few.

Altho i mentioned Red & Black earlier in the thread.. i agree with you - Wet was the defining moment for me, and commited me to the scene a lot more than i should've done down the years since. hehe. I think Red & Black were more the actual sound tho.

digital blonde 'legato' was the track that immediately sprung to mind on reading the first post, though after reading the replies i think ian was closest to the mark. also members of mayday - 10in01, has crasher written all over it

Posted by JakeC on Jun-10-2006 06:31:

Got given 'Black' for my tenth birthday and fell in love with Quake - 'Mantra' and thats kinda became of conception of what gatecrasher was all about.

The early Scott Bond EMs aswell would be good desciprtions of the "Gatecrasher" sound.

Posted by Az on Jun-10-2006 18:21:

what on earth is the point? Gatecrasher died years ago
