+1, and compared to their earlier work, it's not even that good of an album.

compared to 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' nothing is a good album... but that comparison is hardly fair. The first disc on 'Stadium Arcadium' definitely has that summer magic factor. No?

+1 on Gnarls Barkely & RHCP - I loved the "Grey Album" and listened to my burnt copy till it broke. Ridiculously talented guy is Danger Mouse. RHCP I have started listening to Stadium Arcadium and, while I like it, I still miss albums like Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

But my long awaited album this summer is Tom Petty's "Highway Companion" which still hasn't got a release date yet or an album cover. Fackin' stoners.....but I'd wait forever for Tom if "Square One" is any indication of the album.

I wasn't trying to "dis" your post jon jon, I was just literally saying that I hadn't heard of those albums.

What kind of tunes are they?

No no, I know dude. Some rock, semi-dance, and southern hip-hop on there.

this one blows "When it Fails" out of the water... much more upbeat (without compromising their chillness) and they just really brought their A game. Sickness.

I've never really really given Petty a chance. Awesome, thanks for headsup.

Anyone else recommend anything out now that's mindblowing?

This isn't new, came out a few years ago but stayed under the radar for the most part and is the only rock album i have really liked in the past little while.

southern hip hop is by far the WORST hip hop there is...

without a doubt.....it's garbage.

you need to stick to your coasts, amatuer.

Honestly, it's a sound I've come to appreciate as "street". I admit it's often times amateur yet I find it's rawness/passion to be so creative.

(agreed, it's production level can't hold a candle to Dre on the West or RZA on the East, but fuck it's so nice to have another sound these days)

I haven't listened to hip hop in 3-4 years, and i used to be such a head.

What a happy 3-4 years it's been. Most hip hop is such shit nowadays.

I have no patience to listen to the garbage that gets airplay on radios and in clubs.

A close friend of mine who lives/breathes/eats hip hop thinks this LP is garbage. Personally I think it's brilliant. Minimal beats, and his MC'ing is tight 95% of the time. I think he's so ahead of his time, fack.
