The government pwned me.

I just filled in my selective service form after they threatened to fine me 250,000 bucks, and/or 5 years in prison.

Paleez Esplane...

I made the exact same mistake a few years ago too, only to find out that they can't do shit, other than block some federal loans for college.

You're going in to the Service? really?

If so, cool

nah. If the government needs to draft people into the military, they select people that have registered for selective service. EVERYONE has to register, too, it's the law.

But there is no draft right now, so I'm good.

Posted by Groundhog Boy on Jun-09-2006 03:05:

Not EVERYONE, just any MALE over 18 has to register with selective service. I think they have a box on the form you fill out when you register to vote that you can check to do it, which I think is how I got put on the list.

Go Draft

Posted by Fir3start3r on Jun-09-2006 03:09:

ah i zee....

Go draft!

Don't you love equality?

"It's the women that carry the kids" is probably the government's view. In all reality, no government is in support of ZPG, unless overcrowding is an issue, because they need bodies for war and maximize output for the economy. I somewhat think it's why Republicans, who come from less crowded states, are against abortion, because in the end, it reduces productivity. Same with gay marriage.

Did you happen to catch the chart display the other day during the discussion before the gay marriage amendment vote?

Can you give me a better explanation why they're against it, besides legislating religion? There was a ton of explanations about how gay marriage threatens families. Ask most people what they think of when they use the word "family." Go ask off from an employer for a highly contested week for vacation "with the family" or "with the wife" and see who wins. Breeding is still a plus in our society, and people who go against that flow are considered below those who don't.

BTW, I just want to reiterate that I'm more heterosexual than most people. I could just care less about who screws who.

+1, Ill agree with you here, but I dont think we should give them the right to adoption, and the right to call it marrige. Maybe something else, but not marrige.

Also, I doubt most republicans are againts it because reduces population. Its more about moral issues.

Marriage = The LEGAL union of a couple. The only people who care about this are the religious people, and I hate to tell them, but marriage wasn't started by the Bible. It's not a religious union, it's a legal union. You don't have to be religious to get married. I can go down to the courthouse and get a judge to marry me to a woman. For that reason, maybe the Christians should find a new word for their union between a man and a woman.

Seriously, how many non-religious people do you know of that care whether gays marry. It's just another way that the religious people are trying to legislate their religious views. Religion isn't supposed to sponsored by our government and this is just another example of them not abiding by that founding principle.

Also, why is it moral to discriminate against people legally because of their sexual preferrence? Why shouldn't they be able to adopt. At least the kid is being raised by TWO people? We allow single people to adopt. Are children better off in orphanages than in homes with two men or two women? You've got to be kidding me.

I know many non-religious, and I dont consider myself a very big religious person, but still believe in god. Anyway you look at it, it is wrong, that a man and a man to get together, or a woman and a woman.

What your saying is that the U.S should changed its way of governing when from the first president, the word god or Christianity was mentioned and supported by them. Its impossible. The morals of most people throughout the world are not for gay marrige, maybe for a gay union, or whatever they want to call it. But dont tell me we should changed the dictionary words because some f*** wanna get together. Let them call it something different. Why should we call it something different?

I can't fathom how you can say what you just wrote after +1ing me when I said "I could care less who screws who." If you don't care, how can you call them fags in such a derogatory manner, or say "anyway you look at it, it is wrong"

Posted by metalgearsolid on Jun-09-2006 19:23:

Yeah, the government pwned me too. I own an apartment building and one of the tenants called the gov and the gov fined me for violations and I have a month to fix it. It has cost me thousands of dollars.

Do you personally know any gay people?

Believe it or not, there was a time when I was your age, and I had similar views on gays. Then I grew up and got out of my limited exposure community and because I'm openminded, found some more balanced views on a lot of issues. Hopefully, you'll get out, see some of the world, meet some new people, and re-evaluate your limited views that have been fostered by a lack of perspective.

Dude, you are still 18 don't think just because you are boning a hot chick means you know everything in life. People our age do not have the wisdom to hate or love or hate or to love or to hate.
