Tune in this Friday, June 9th

@ 9am PST / Noon EST / 4pm GMT

This month features a fresh set from Garrett S
with the latest tracks from Evolution, Jerry Bonham, Damien Heck,
Matthew Dekay, 16 Bit Lolita's, Miika Kuisma, and more.

Special Guest this month is
CULLAN
(Realivze Tribe, www.djcullan.com, San Diego)

When one hears the kind of mixes Cullan produces… a few simple descriptive phrases come to mind. Flawless, precise, refined, technically sound, impeccably programmed, seemless transitions. But, technical efficiency aside, when it comes to the heart of the matter, Cullan's ability to create a subtle yet powerful musical journey through the music he plays is what sets him apart from the average dj. Carefully hand-crafting a mix that is readily accessible yet deeply penetrating, and as progressively uplifting as it is darkly intoxicating, is an artform that he has been honing for over 8 years now. Not one to step up to the tables and "rock the crowd" with generic break-beat tracks, or played out rock remixes… Cullan's sets are of the entrancing variety, slowly building, transforming, and progressing to places that subtly drive the listener and participant to a point of union with the music. A place where even the most innocent bystander suddenly becomes unconsciously immersed in the vibration of the sounds he so intricately spins out. And why should he "rock the crowd" any other way?

Growing up in Southern California, Cullan had a wide variety of musical influences, however, many of the artists that affected his musical tastes the most over the years were products of the burgeoning underground rave scene in the early to mid nineties. DJs like Doran, and artists like Orbital played the kind of music that irrevocably captured Cullan's attention. And he knew immediately, he wasn't here to simply listen and enjoy the experience, he was to have a hand in creating it. So the rest is history. Cullan slowly began the process of defining his style and tightening his skills through numerous house parties and raves throughout Southern California. Eventually, his first major gigs would materialize under the umbrella of Damien Sanders and John Hunnington at the infamous Rubber parties in Orange County. Soon after he was playing all over Southern California at raves and clubs alike, everything from the Sunset Room to Soho to Tantra Sutra. Now a resident for San Diego Production companies Polka Dot and Realivze Tribe, Cullan regularly brings the kind of sound that these two companies have been cultivating in the local San Diego scene for years now: a deep, diverse, brand of progressive house and trance that enraptures the listener. Whether he is opening with a raw tribal groove, developing his set with shifty cut of a tech house, driving deep into a bass heavy progressive track, or finishing with a uplifting trance floor filler Cullan¹s mastery behind the decks is ever-present. If you like the sounds of Sasha, Cattaneo, or Lawler, you might not want to miss Cullan.

Check out Cullan opening for Steve Lawler next Friday @ 4th & B in San Diego!!
