Wink

good party, not better than C&C..more tmrw

Posted by Crazy Serb on Jun-10-2006 11:31:

hey Sean, good running into you at TiL!

Vibe killed it.

I think he outplayed C&C big time as well.

It was relentless and pure DDTT from the moment I walked in (around 3am) until the end (7am, whenver he was done)... just beautiful!

I am spent and just about to fall into a recovery coma....

- service at Sonic was oustanding, bartenders, coat check, bouncers, etc etc. I was blown away by how friendly and welcoming everyone was tonight. fuck.

- Nevio, I'm sorry, I'm so confused. Dude, you played like 8 anthems as a warmup. Zero tempo control, all over the fucking place.

- Dj Vibe was incredibly normal, he did nothing fancy pancy. I've heard Kevin do more things with tribal tunes. lol

Highlights tho:
Holmes & Ivs - 8 Letters (Calderone Edit)
Ame - Raj

- it just seemed like everyone was really tired/ exhausted and possibly saving themselves for Lawler tonight.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Jon when did he play Rej?

I got there at 2:30 after five glorious hours of sleep and felt like I was starting my Saturday. I appreciate how they search you for gum - it's a meccha of a dancefloor in there and I loved how the staff was sweeping up things as soon as people happened to drop something. However, that means everyone's breath gets continually worse as the night progresses....come on, at least offer a pack of breathmints at the door for those who have to leave their breath aids behind!

Anyhow, when I got there Vibe had been on for some time and I wasn't feeling his tunes at all. they were a bit too circuity and nothing like that Buenos Aires set I downloaded a few weeks ago. I guess his set had started with a bang and then deflated a bit from what others told me.

sometime between 4 and 5 in came the bassline of one of my favorite tracks right now - Sebastien Leger's "Bad Clock" released on Carl Cox's Intec label. I rrrrran to the dancefloor. Following that he played some dirty dirty techno track that I have but can't recall the name of. of course, 80% of the dancefloor stopped moving. they were all looking around like "omgwherearemydrums?icantdancewithoutmydrums!!!" while me and cribby were just eating it up at the back of the dancefloor while people looked at us like we must have been reeeeeeally high to enjoy MUSIC WITHOUT DRUMS (or vocals)! aaahahah

After that Vibe transitioned back to the tribal with a neat remix of Green Velvet's "flash" and I transitioned back to one of the couches at the back until 5 when I went home.

Personally I didn't see or hear anything special about Vibe or even anything remotely resembling that set I downloaded which was pretty damn good. It was nice to meet Orko and Cribby and see Sonic in full swing. I will certainly be back for The Hacker on June 30. Techno is going to sound fucking SICK in there.

sonic is cool

got to the club at about 11:30, i really enjoyed nevio - a lot.

the staff were super friendly, the place was impeccably clean, i was very impressed. well done sonic!

met some new TAs, preppie chick, highroller, floorwhore, as well as some older faces, tyler, cono_sur, kabeliscious, cribby, and a few more!

had to leave at 3:30 as was tired after a long day at work

but well done jeff, nice place.

If anybody knows the remix of "Coldplay - talk" that nevio played twice, let me know.

again, really good time!!

Same here, really enjoyed his latest live sets and wanted to see him spin but after work and watching the Poland game I really wasn't in the mood to party.

DJ Vibe was really good. I enjoyed it. But I was wiped... eventually had to call it quits around 5.

This was my first time visiting Sonic and WOW! I really am impressed. Love the hardwood floors and the fact that there are fewer steps to trip of over.

It was nice seeing everyone again, you all know who you are.

First time to Sonic, and I really liked it there!

Loved the lay out, the sound, and people, pretty much everything.

Vibe was ok, but it felt like he was holding back(not that I have seen him before). When he came on, you could tell he was going somewhere, but by the middle of the night, it seemed as most of the dancers were lost, or not as interested. I wish more people had been there last night for some more energy, but oh well.

Great seeing everybody last night, and I will be back to Sonic.

PS - Nevio did an AWESOME job warming up the crowd, really loved his style.

ban Sean Cassidy!

and after Vibe's MINIMAL Dancefloor set in May, I just don't know. I just...don't...know.

*waves bye-bye to DJ Vibe*

I dunno man...

I've heard at least a dozen of those Dancefloor sets from 2006 and I was a bit sceptical... (just because I didn't like a single one of those sets, while being blown away by those older ones from 2004)

Last night was NOTHING like the Dancefloor sets.

And you can pretend to wave bye-bye to Vibe, but I know if you were there last night... phew... no words.

I got what I wished for last nite - a nite of proper dirty relentless non-stop rolling twisted tribal dark sexy HOUSE!

Posted by Billche on Jun-10-2006 18:56:

Well, Vibe was the dj that made me like house music, and I definately didn't leave there disappointed. I loved every minute of his set.

I just talked to a member of the HDT, and he in fact WAS there.

The ban will not take place at this time.

I left very early, and was a little dissapointed in Vibe. A few standout tracks & segments towards the time I was leaving [around 6am], but the music seemed a little monotonous to me. Whether it was just me, or the fact I was pretty much exausted upon arrival or a combination of the two I can't say, but something about last night just didn't click for me.

please tell me you're joking? I mean he's an alright DJ and all, but he did absolutely nothing for the crowd, or Vibe, with that opening. Sorry but how can you explain opening for a hard tribal DJ with circuit club anthem after club anthem? For me, this really demonstrated how important a good opener really is, I honestly felt that the party was winding down during his set, and then after we got blasted with hard tribal for 4 hrs....he comes on and spins "Truly Love"..???????...talk about totally killing a party.

If you saw the rule I instated, it has to either be 3 plain old, vanilla TOTAs, or ONE boring old, regular TOTA, AND a member of the HDT.

An investigation is forthcoming. Sean Cassidy is on thin ice until further notice.

And Miso...thanks, that made my day. We can't afford to lose any more dirties!

way to play talk twice in an hour, fuck.
