Best House album?
can anyone recommend me what the "general consensus" is as to what an amazing house album to get is? I know thats pretty vauge but let me put it this way...whats an album everyone would be like "oh yea thats definately good house that everyone's heard at one point or another"?
thanks
Danny Tenaglia - Back to Basics is definitely one of the best house albums there is.
EDIT:
Also if you want a more beachy vibe, THIS is perfect for the summer. I love this CD (CD 1, haven't heard CD 2 and i probably never will). But CD 1 has a great trackselection, im not sure as to where you can find the CD nowdays..i have Disc 1 ripped in my computer..someone lent it to me a loooooong time ago.
I personally love the Danny Howells GU027: Miami discs. Esp. disc one, from Light Shine to Kathmandu. Great summer album.
That discogs link looks promising too -- I liked that tracklist.
GU17 is my all time favorite house album.
Danny Tenaglia KILLED it.
Danny Tenaglia - Global Underground: Athens
Danny Tenaglia - Tourism
Richie Santana - Progressive State of Mind
Balance 009 Mixed By Paolo Mojo is sweet.
Well its not an album but it is the best house set I have ever heard, also voted best set ever on Frisky;
Kristian Litman - Stickiest
Its simply outstanding. PM me if you want it.
Thomas Bangalter - Irreversible

Balance 005 is very good. Dunno if it's solely house?
But it really got some good comments comin' its way.

Cassius - 1999
Cassius - Au Reve
Daft Punk - Discovery
..some of the finest imo
Not the best, but I would recommend Eric Morillo - Subliminal #9. 3cd's of mostly commercial tunes if you are new to house.

I condider him a house DJ, although sometimes he plays some completely random stuff check Balance 009 for example.

Mojo plays house, get over it
i would also dare to recommend balance 008 by that other hot house dj of the moment: Desyn Masiello
edit: i forgot Hernan Cattaneo In South America (specially cd2). Thats some sick prog house !
For straight up house (does such a thing really exist anymore?), Mojo and Masiello's Balances are fantastic. Luke Fair's OS on Bedrock is quite tasty also.
