Unhappy Guys please help my left ear hurts...

Has anybody had this happen to them?
For the last month there is a slight constant pain in my left ear...
I pretty much quit djing and it still hasn't gone away

Go see an audiologist, you might have some hearing damage. Best to take breaks, I wouldn't spend more than an hour at practicing without a lengthy break....the more your ears are exposed to high volume levels, the more damage will be done. Try wearing ear plugs, or turning the volume down...but that will be after your ear feels better.

i dont know about noise levels.

maybe you have an ear infection? if its not too intense it could be an inner ear infection because sometimes those dont hurt at all.

go see a ear/nose/throat doctor and they'll give you pills and drops. not a big deal... give it 2 or 3 weeks you'll be fine.

Its probably an ear infection.

Try standing next to one of these babies when it's burning out. You'll start shaking and wonder if your ears are bleeding.

hahaha, exactly.

Yeah dude, I bet it's an ear infection of some sort. Probably some antibiotics will clear it up

One of the things i've found about earplugs though is that you tend to turn up your head phone volume on your mixer to compensate a little bit for the lose in volume which the earplugs are obviously creating. However the benefit of having the top end dramatically reduced obviously helps loads!

nelly

On a side note, the joy of dj'ing has started to dwindle inside me. My ears are starting to become more sensitive etc. After nights out my ears will be ringing while my mates ears wont. I'm not at the stage of wanting to sell my gear. But i'm playing a lot less then i was.

Also the movie "It's all gone Pete Tong" will give you a serious dose of what can happen

Yeah - It's all gone pete tong was totally fictional obviously, but it does make you think.

Personally my headphone volume is about half what it is without earplugs. Blocks out external noise, therefore enabling a lower 'phone volume.

where can i get this peter tong movie? btw my ear hurts too...and i stopped djing for a while. I think i am going to buy those shure headphones (found them at curciut city for only 180) and see if them may help with the volume. Also my ears ring while other friends ears are fine and I am just like wtf?
