Digweed has been playing a lot of trancier tracks lately, it seems. Played some in the last hour+ of his set in Los Angeles last Thursday, and a whole bunch all throughout his AMAZING 4 Hour + set here in San Francisco Friday night.

My favorite set I've ever heard from him in person. Dark, deep basslines with a clear hint of trance heard quite a bit. Add lots of amazing electro tracks, pounding tribal, and just kick ass prog....and you have the amazing set Digweed did here in SF Friday night. Seems 99% of the crowd agrees, too.

both sasha and digweed were better when they dabbled in trance back in the late 90s.

Not really anything new. Digweed has always been varied.

I do and I'm sure tons of other people who are being duped by the title of this thread.

"father of house"

I love the stuff Digweed has done, both as a DJ and a producer, but in NO WAY WHATSOEVER is he the "father of house".

It's 2006 now. I prefer djs who bring something new to the table rather than going with the played out same old route.

Ie Digweed of Fabric 20 and Transitions now

Digweed,The father of house?hm...There is a problem, Digweed started playing a house idiom(this progressive, tribal thing) after 2000...You should try Larry Heard (Mr.Fingers) or someone from chicago..."Washing machine" ( a legendary house track) was made in 1986...

Sounds like a quality tune to be fair

He's the scruffy guy who turns up at weddings and can't afford a proper suit who is explained as Uncle Somethingorother, "from your Mum's side" of house.

they both still play primarily the same style; progressive house. the only difference is that the sound has evolved. trance went the same route so it wouldnt hurt to mix it up a bit.

indeed, some people should move on like the music does, and stop living in the fucking past. U only make yourself sad if you dont. Only my opinion though. Im not saying here u should jump on every bandwagon but the thing RapidFire said here hits the nail on the head.

Regardless of what it's called...the stuff Digweed is playin right now is F'in good...aight?! Sometimes I get caught up trying to put labels on things and study the sounds so meticulously in order to "label" it...then I just say F it...enjoy it & dance!

Posted by neoraver on Jun-14-2006 17:12:

if anyone's interested in the title of this its "The Field - Over The Ice" from the Sun & Ice EP

btw, I would never call this track trance, but still, its an amazing track imo
