Novation Nova - Loading Patches??
Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone can help...
Just aqquired an awesome synth "Novation Nova", but im having a huge problem loading the Vengence soundset ive just purchased. I'm sure the Nova uses the .syx format. I heard a rumour that you need to load the patch into a sequencer as midi, then set the Nova to record, is this correct??
Much appreciated in advance.

Just load the midi file into a sequencer, hook up the midi to your Nova and push play, should set everything up automatically. Didn't you download instructions with the set?
Hi Jahnlay,
Unforntunatly the patch didnt come with instructions. Im using Fruity Loops 6, and assigning Fruity MIDI Output to the Nova on midi channel 1 (Global MIDI Channel). Im positive the Nova needs to be in "Syx Receiving" mode. I could try it in Cubase SX
For Windows, MIDI-OX: http://www.midiox.com/
For Mac OS9, SysEx: http://members.cox.net/sgrace9/sysex/
For Mac OS X, SysEx Librarian, http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/
use the above tool (Depending on your platform) to get sysex to your synth. It's much easier and more reliable than using a sequencer (Which usually defaults to not transmitting or receiving SysEx).
From memory the Novation gear will automagically respond to SysEx by default. You may have a Device ID Conflict.
Try the one of the tools, see what happens. If nada, change the device ID on the nova, rinse and repeat.
If that doesn't help contact Vengeance for more info.
I'll try that m8. Thankyou for the info
Strange, my waldorf Q soundset came with a readme with clear instructions, you sure you didn't miss it?
You bought a what? You need more than just help with your soundset matey!
