Yea! Vegas Baby Yea!
so i'm turning 21 this august, and my friends (older) and i have planned a trip to go to vegas this christmas break (12/28 - 1/1).
besides gambling, drinking, and walking on the strip to see the free shows, does anybody have any recommendations on what else we can do?
also, does anyone know if there will be any big names having gigs at that time? i know it's in advance, but maybe someone has an inside word. van dyk had a show in vegas last year on the 30, so i figure there might be something like that this time around...

Someone big will no doubt be there for new years. Its a long ways off so dont expect to hear anything til after the summer at the earliest. Vegas is overated imo. At least youre going when its not hot as hell.

vegas is weak. Smoke-drenched casino's, blank faces of gamblers, and ok clubs. I guess it depends on the person, but I seriously don't recommend it.

i liked doing some of the thrill rides on top of the Stratosphere Hotel. pretty good rush, if you're into that type of stuff
Be sure to check out Pure which is the hottest nightclub in Vegas and Drais which is the best afterhours in Vegas. And remember, what happens in Vegas STAYS in Vegas!!!
I
Las Vegas.
Ice is the best club in Vegas IMO.... except when they oversell.

play DDR at that nice arcade
Yea, pure is the hottest nightclub, but that is just due to temperature. They were ok when they had faarsheed on the terrace, but now they are just average.
Ice gets in the talent, so does empire. So expect a few big names at ice.
oh and it gets freakin chilly at night around then...dont forget some semi warm clothes.
thanks for the advice everyone!
hopefully a big name DJ will be there and i will be able to see some of the clubbing vegas life.
i'm surprised no one really mentioned hoover dam; i was looking into it, and it seemed doable. anybody know if its worth it? it is one of the wonders of the modern world...

ice isn't closing. The W is building on their land but the soonest that they can buy ice out of their contract is Nov 2007. over a year.
and jet is another club, they have a house room and are getting zabiella next week, but thats it. Nothing special .

Wear walking shoes if you plan on going down the strip, unless you want your feet to hurt for days afterwards. The New York, New York roller coaster is kinda gay too. The Caeser's Palace buffet is really bad, but the buffet at the Luxor is the jam. Other than that, I don't really know what else to tell you.
