The Geovisitors thingy at the bottom

Has anyone clicked it yet?

It's quite interesting, as you can see where all visitors come from. I, for example, could easily find myself (Brasilia is in the middle of nowhere in Brazil), but it's almost impossible to find anyone in Europe or in the American East coast.

It's a shame they're not exclusively showeing the visitors of the boards, but of tranceaddict as a whole - I wonder who the visitor from Kenya is

I clicked the google earth link and it managed to locate me right down to the city where i live. it's a like 40km off though. Could be because i'm using a dynamic ip dsl line.

yeah you can zoom to yourself, mine was within a couple miles

I believe it's just given coordinates within your city.

In my case it was way off, but that's the place google maps, for some reason, recognises as being the centre of Brasilia

Heh, I found me, although it's about a mile off.. I also found an NWTA that lives in Duvall.

That's the thing.
If when i use google earth on its own and select Kuala Lumpur, it puts me to a different point.

I don't have the slightest idea of what it could be then

it doesn't show my island at all in the map, and when i click "show yourself" it points me to mainland Portugal near Lisbon

The geothing is probably using a traceroute on everyone's IP which depending on how everyone's individual ISP is setup will result in locations that are different than a standard map query.

It shows me as being in a fucking cemetary...

I checked your IP, it would be very strange that you got nunavut - I looked up your IP (from your post) on www.ip2location.com and it's accurate.

As for how accurate this stuff is - it's about 95% accurate - since Google bases much of their Adwords advertising campaigns on geographic proximity on top of keywords. Even ads on TA are only shown only to certain provinces/states/countries.
