what is the longest set you have ever spun?

i've been making a habit of playing house after parties lately, and each week has turned into more of a marathon. this past week, i cracked the eight hour mark for the first time - and i couldnt believe have quickly the time passed! i'm totally addicted now.

whats the longest you've gone?

Probably about ten hours.

2 hrs on my own... and 6 tagging..

I play from 9pm to 2am every friday alone! Hehehe But there's been times when I've done BBQ's that turn into private parties from noon until afterhours.

9am->6pm on New Years Day 2006 with help from dj_bas

keep in mind, it was after hosting a night at sonic that was 1am-8am, then hit the decks from 9am, and went just past 5pm.

needless to say, my monday morning was utterly fucked.

11pm to 6am at a house party. Fuck that was a long time playing.

man, do you guys plan sets ahead of time? and dj woody, when you play every week, for that long, do you play the same tunes each friday night?

Longest I've ever done was around the 8hr mark.

My back was killing me by the end, otherwise a great time.

Here in melb dj promo is breaking the record for longest set.
Playing from Monday 10am untill friday 1pm non stop. Thats 100 hours!!
My longest set is probably around 2 hours but thats at home in my bedroom anyway.

Ours was after seeing Sander K till about 5am, going to some party after, then back to my house around 8:30.


We drank about a bottle and a half of champagne each over the set + lines of all kinds of drugs

It was fun and I'm pissed I didnt record it.

My Monday was indeed fucked. I slept for about a day after that.

Haven't played yet but my approach in track selection/programming has always been more for "extended sets" so I guess sooner or later I'm gonna be doing 7+ hours. 2-3 hours is just too much of a tease imo.

I'm getting my mixer tomorrow so I'll probably play for a very long time tomorrow.

almost 10 hours on a completely boring day with a friend of mine. 3 Tech12s, 3 CDJ800s, a DJM600, and too much music.

we'd tag, for eating specially. yes, we did eat while we spun. we also drank, he smoked some weed, and we even watched TV whilst tagging. nothing better to do that day.

Without trainwrecking.... 30somethign mins... meh I'm learning.

my friend and I have been known to just chill in his apartment and tag team (gabriel and dresden style) for like 4 or 5 hours

we dont play out so we prolly dont count

I remember waking up early like 8 in the morning, with nothing better to i had a serious mixdown for like 6hrs and i completely spazed out, like wtf

10 hours is the longest ive done, that was fun! drank myself sober by the end tho.

I did also regularly do 5 hours at the bar at my halls of residence. That was really good cos I got to play the whole night right from the start til the bar shut, it meant I could always take things in the direction I wanted to and also get a real good feel for playing at different times of the night. Now when I play out sometimes I feel a bit stifled by only having an hour or an hour and a half.

house parties from 10pm until 8am. but by 4am im totally fucked up so the last 4 hours dont really count.

4 hours at a demo session for a club dj spot. I think the optimum is 1-2 hours and then you should have a break of 1/2 hour at least.

They offered me a job but I didn't take it, too many mainstream hip hop requests, not fun.

about 3,5 hours straight

The club opens at 9pm, so usually it's dead until 11pm. It is a hip hop/Spanish rock club, so that gives me more room for variety. Off course, I play all the current hits every week, but the majority of my set is varied.

Tomorrow Saturday I'm playing at the club from 9pm until 1am, then at Spundae from 2am until 4am. That's going to be fun. My first gig is hip hop/Spanish Rock then Techno @ Spundae! woohoo...

i had a weekly residency from 9:30 pm- 2am. That was fun.

i see

12 hours, crowd of 800, back in my psytrance days (mind you, i was quite shit back then)

every friday night 8pm to 4am, about 8 hours that is, if i count well
