woohoo we get a new faster internet connection! from 768k up and down to 3mbit down and 512k up. damn that will be nice compared to our overly saturated connection.

That's cool. I recently got my SBC updated from 1.5 - 3 MB to 3-6 mb download, and its only like 28 a month.

Who's your ISP?

well this is a business class connection but the current isp is speakeasy. the new isp is going to be cox. here in southern california i dont think sbc/att has much of a pressence for good high speed connections. the price for their stuff is insane. the cox service is 99 a month. for consumer services though you can get cox internet at 9mbits for 65. and by the way crazed your connection is Mb not MB. Mb = Megabits MB = MegaBytes. 1 byte = 8 bits.

Well it said Mbps.

And Cox ftw! I know their connection, extremely satisfying hah.

yeah well unfortunately for business class that is a lot more money. 5Mbit optical is 1300 a month for businesses.

::points back to NY for his 15mbps down, 2mbps up cable modem and cries::

If it's offered in your area, you might want to check out Verizon's FiOS.

15Mbps down/2Mbps up

http://www22.verizon.com/FiOSForHom...ot/package.aspx

15Mbs good

Also here in Redondo Beach, Adelphia offers 15Mbps down/2Mbps up but it's more expensive than FiOS.

you have to remember. this is for a business. wells fargo cant "say" they arent a business and get the home service. it just isnt happening. corporate orders this stuff. but FiOS sucks anyways. read about the complaints about it for people who use any p2p or bittorrent or irc type stuff. their connection goes to dialup speed.

Hmmmmmm I haven't noticed any speed problems but I don't do p2p. From my news servers I'm constantly getting 14.5 - 15.5. I do know that Verizon's email service sucks though. They block everything, even TA messageboard emails!
