DJ Hyper last night @ touch

it's too bad that this went by largely unmentioned on this forum. It was a great show, and it doesn't seem like real quality breaks DJ's come to Houston that often. So for everyone who missed out, it was a hell of a show and you should have come

The only songs I recognized were a remix of Tomas Andersson - Washing Up (sounded like a breaks/re-edited version of the Tiga remix), and some of the rock stuff he played at the end (Hyper played RATM - Killing in the Name towards the very end along with some other non-electronic stuff). The whole set was badass, especially the beginning of it where he really just slaughtered the room.

If anyone recognized any other songs or has pictures/comments/opinions on the show, post them here.

About Touch itself, as it was my first time there...I didn't really like how there was a raised dance floor in the middle of the room. It was too small to really need to be segregated from the rest of the floor, too big and too low down to be like a platform for a few people to dance up on, and it really made moving around the room difficult. The sound wasn't nearly as loud as in other venues, but it was VERY clear. Drink prices were average, meaning way too expensive but you pay it anyway. It ended up working fine for a show like this but would have been a disaster for a more crowded night.

I was there..great set. I wasn't feeling the dancefloor either. I wasn't drunk enough and I felt a little TOO visible up there lol

amazingly enough, i was there too.... great set. and yea, the rage against the machine track at the end was awesome. my tab was ridiculous and i was still sober, but whatever. it was fun

Show should have been promoted better. I had no idea.

I've just never been able to get into any of Hyper's production and I'm a huge breaks fan. And Dirk sucks.

I stand corrected. Most of the events I see these days are usually on here. I will check 77002 more often.

I don't know where this came from, Sean. Completely irrelevant.

Roots, yeah..I think those only apply to non-skydivers. 0.02

spin off. its going to be a spin off.

I would let the record stand that I have no personal beef with anyone on this forum. Ath the moment, there alot of stress going on outside of the music scene that has required my immediate attention and it is why I am taking a break from the music; it is situational, and has nothing to do with anyone here.

I'll come right to the point. Should anyone have anything personal against me that I should know about, I would trust they would be man enough to bring it to my attention like a grown adult (assuming we are all adults here) so that a reasonable solution can be reached. If that cannot happen, any shit talking done behind my back is no longer any concern to me.

For another note, just to clear up what may have been a misunderstanding; any opening slot I have accepted I have been thankful for. My sole purpose for being involved and continuing my pursuit in the music was the thrill of getting to share it with the masses, and see them react. I've never sought to be the center of attention..those who *know* me know that isn't in my character.

Thanks.

so.... let me get this straight.... there's not gonna be a spinoff?

Posted by progressiveMOJO on Jun-27-2006 22:42:

too bad, I'd really like to see that....althought it's Sean for the win in my book.

Posted by davemolina on Jun-27-2006 22:53:

I think there should be a series of events:

Day One: DJ Spin-off
Day Two: 100-yard Target Sniping in Arctic Location w/o Night Vision
Day Three: Sweater Knitting

well matthias would have day two locked for a win. and i suggest switching day 2 and day 3 to obtain some functionality from their freshly knitted sweaters.
