well i hope i dont get slaughtered for asking this question but...
i need to buy some new needles and need a reccomendation. i've been happy using stanton trackmaster II' s for the last few years but now i think it's time to move on. from what i've read in previous posts it seems to be narrowed down to either whitelabels, nightclubs, or concordes. which are the best? and what makes them better than the trackmasters? my only problem with my stantons is that the highs seem to be a little too high, making a bit of a hissing on some records when there is a vocal with an 's' or a strong high hat.
Concordes and Nightclubs are (or can be) the same thing.
The Nightclub is a needle which is available as a normal cart or as a Concorde. The Concordes also come in other models (Elektro, DJ, Pro, some others) but the Nightclub is the top of the range. Theres no difference (as far as I know) between the cart (OM) or the Concorde aside from construction, the Concordes just look awesome. If you get a Nightclub, get the Concorde type.
There are arguments both ways over the Nightclub vs Whitelabel. I've got Ortofons so I'm gonna say those obviously but you'll hear opinions boh ways. You'll have to mak up your own mind, I'm sure you won't be disappointed either way.
Thanx for the reply. That narrows it down just a little more which is good. But now I guess I've started the ever-popular debate: nightclubs vs. whitelabels. I've heard that the ortofons cause alot of record wear - i dont know how true that is though. any downside to the whitelables?
