Yoji Biomehanika Appreciation Thread

Trance Hardstyle.

I love his dark and banging beats. But they have brilliant melody in them. It took me a while to 'understand' his style but now that I do - his productions and mixes are absolutely brilliant.

Plus, his sets are mindblowing!!

Favorite Yoji track: Dark By Design - Blackout (Yoji Biomehanika mix).

This is dark, industrial, melodious and hard

Whoz with me?

lol i was jsut listein to him and was going to this furom to make a thread about yoji....me and my bro actually thought of flying out to japan when he played wiht ferry corsten two of my favs!

I liked his 02-04 era and his older mid-to-late 90's productions under Ozaka OZ were decent. He peaked with his 2004 Sensation Black set. 2005 was incredibly lackluster, with his Sensation Black set being a re-hash of his 04 one. I haven't heard anything new from him at all in 2006.

+1.

All the tracks he plays in his thread are prety old. But I saw Yoji for the first about a month back and I was not much into hardstyle until then. He just blew me away that night...

I wonder when he is going to come up with some new stuff...

Remo-con
Nish

apparently guests at Yoji nights. very similar high-energy, style, bit more towards the "Hardstyle Disco" sound

Thanks.

rubbish?! clearly you don't know the full extent of the ownage that is Yoji. He's amazing cuz he not only plays awesome, hi-energy, bangin' ,but at the same time melodic, music. His mixing skills are also insane. He has such innovative mixing, at least i think so.

seen him three or four times, beat matching was all over the place (innovative if that's your thing), accapella's out of time, played horrendously cheesy, mad hair tho

hahaha ok that's cool. You at least listened to his stuff before making a judgement, i hate people who just kinda say things without knowing shit about them. And i'm not argue about why you don't like him, it's pretty dumb to try to force someone to like something.

P.S...awesome hair indeed.

First thing I heard of him was his Sensation black 2004 liveset: total ownage! Played that set over and over. Great mixing, nice flow and I like his style (not that I spin it though).
I had been looking forward to his 2005 Sensation set but damn, he blew it. Exactly the same tracks as last year only now he shouting through them with his microfone(couldn't understand shit of it:P)and such.

Thats so true...he is apparently spinning the same songs over and over again. His sensation black 2004 wasnt much different from the one in 2005.

I wonder how bored he'd be playing and listening to the same stuff over and over again for like 3 years...

i wonder if ppl would still like him if he got rid of the clown costumes.

Posted by basvh on Jun-20-2006 20:28:

He was brilliant from 2000 till 2003.

He owned at every set with Impulz Outdoor 2003 as a peak point. That morning there were about 20 000 people standing in front of him near a lake. It was 5.30 in the morning the first sunlights were breaking through as well as the last lazer beams. Then he dropped ding a ling..... as well as some other crazy hardtrance and uk hh tunes.

End of 2003 he started to not to deliver anymore and started playing borring hardstyl sounds. Damn i still miss the old yoji!

Crazy fact: I'm in his Hardstyl disco music video in several shots.

saw him in many videos and he rocked then...saw him spin @ ultra spin 10 and let me just say
GREAT PERFORMER & he knows how to interact with the crowd like no other.

Interaction: Yes
Reading the croud: Sometimes, he made some errors by going to hard or too trancey in the past

US10 Toronto right?

Yea I was there too.....he killed it!

Does anyone know the remix of Komodo yoji spun @ Dance Valley?

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Jun-20-2006 21:48:

if 2 beat loop techno is your thing.. then yoji's the man

i saw him at US 10 .. he would basically play these kinds of songs.. and then when a build up comes hed loop it continuously and would signal the crowd when the song would kick in

intresting dj to say the least but his style, wasnt trance, it wasnt "hardstyle" i would call it hard techno which is very very loopy (2 beat loops for most of the tacks)

well if he didnt have his getup he would lose 90 % of his audience i think

i mean he started producing in 94 with his first release, but i think he got famous after scot project remixed ding a ling which wasnt a bad track
