Fifa 2006

picked this up a couple of days ago.
excellent graphics, and real realistic in terms of gameplay, i think.

the problem however, is that maybe i just suck, but it seems really hard!!

all the matches either end up 4-0 for the computer, or go until the 70 minute with 0-0, and then they score.
i can rarely advance into their box, just because they tackle me so much.

anybody have any hints or strategies?

maybe i just need to practice some more, but i've been playing about 2 or 3 hours, and kind of, but not really, have gotten the hang of it

havent played 06, but do own world cup 06. i dont think theyre too different.

just like real soccer- make the ball do the work. dont give it to 1 player and expect them to run thru the defence. if you dont see an opening, pass it backwards. maintain possession until you see a weakness worth exploiting.

or, turn the difficulty down

yea, that sounds about right. after i posted this, i played a little more and was able to be a little more successful. still no goal, but a lot of fun.

and i can't find the difficulty level setting, so ionno bout that...

I don't know about the new Fifa game since I never played it, But lots of people seem to like the Winning Eleven Soccer series better then the Fifa series.

so yea, played again. and played a lot. i spent a lot of time in the practice mode, gettin hang of how hard to hit buttons and everything; tackling strategies etc.

then started up manager mode, and played some games. won 5, drawed one. i was pretty happy; i did change it to amateur level, but its still not as easy as fifa 99 or somethin.
once i get consistently amazing, i'll switch it to the next level up. and so on.

not that anybody probably cares though...

another question though, those challenges, do you have to actually activate them? because one of them is score a goal within 5 minutes, and i scored one in 4:07, and nothing happened.

PES = Pro Evolution Soccer = Winning Eleven

i've been playing FIFA World Cup 06 for two or three weeks.. it's not as good as PES but still fun and the gap between both games has been bigger IMO. FIFA isn't completely batshit unrealistic.

- I love fifa had every single 1 since 99 for the first pS then now for the ps2 , when i switched from 05 to 06 i didnt like it at all cause you gotta do alot more less computer help from your side but then i got the hang of it and got amazed after i scored some sick goals mad realistic style of play and another thing i like about is that theres mad leagues and teams plus the graphics are Hot , cant wait to see what kinda game EA/Fifa is gonna release for the pS3

i can't believe i haven't seen this topic before Fifa is crap, get yourself pro evolution soccer (europe) or winning eleven (north america, japan)

only football n00bs play Fifa they also are driven around in Minivans and eat orange slices at the half
