Looking for just about any summer job (or year round), plzkthx

To keep a long story short, I got my ass kicked out of my folks home due to a shitload of drama. There are no plans of me going back just about ever at this point in time.

The only problem is, I got no job to support me. I can house with some friends for now but I really need to make some money. I've only got 3 years of college (and a HS diploma) under my belt so I honestly can't apply for anything with a nice, decent salary at this point in time. I'm in Western Long Island but am willing to go just about to any borough for a job.

Can anyone help?

Oh yeah. The reason why I didn't have a summer job already. I was supposed to get jaw surgery next month and the healing period would be nearly a month so I didn't think anyone would offer me a summer job if I told them I'd be out of touch for half the summer. Since I'm out of house now, no surgery (couldn't afford it even if I wanted it).

Haha. Thanks, Mario, but I'm not 100% on the opportunity that Vernon presented me with just yet. There are a few things I have to work out myself during the next day or two before I can make any solid decisions.

Otherwise, I'm hoping more people will present opportunities for little ol' Yan.

What's your major in school? And can the afro be tamed (not cut) for office purposes? I might be able to help with work in Manhattan. Jeez, I remember the days of drama at home. Just about everyone I know seems to encounter it around the same age heh. It's a huuuge bitch

hmmm where exactly do you live in Long Island? How do u feel about doing retail? Hey, getting paid some is better than no pay right?

Just a suggestion.

believe me, i feel u on family drama and shit...sometimes the BEST thing to do IS to go out on ur own. seriously, for ur own mental health.

There's a part of me that says that I'll be a changed man if I accomplish on my own. I want to prove the people that kicked me out that I don't need them, all those times they scoffed. :/

Thanks for the kind words.

Good luck Yan, but think hard, and I hope things will work out. Good luck on your own if you decide that! I'm out of the house but I wouldn't be so happy without my parents' help... if I had to shoulder 3.5 years of undergrad at NYU and 1 year of grad at NYU by myself, for example... I am immensely thankful to my parents for that...

Thanks for the well wishing, Alisa. Don't get me wrong here. I'm thankful for everything they've ever done for me. ESPECIALLY the move to America. I guess it was just time that forced me out of the home.

Seriously, man. The world can turn to shit in like a matter of minutes! The tension was escalating way before our last meeting so it's not like it was an overnight kind of thing.

Thanks a lot. {sidenote: I tried to call you last night but I couldn't reach you. )

Hey Yan, i just quit working on the farm because i found another job doing land scaping, demolition, construction, land exevation and land scaping. But if you want to come to connecticut i can hook you up with a job at that farm. Its hard work but you you get 10 1/2 hours a day. If you want a job there you would be working 730-6 P.M. Let me know

temp agencies are key yan, deff look into that thats how i got my jobby..

you can do clerical work or data entry in a nice air conditioned office making at least 11.00 hr if you need some numbers for agencies just look up Sigma, and Addeco those are two well known temp agencies

i know you don't know me but here goes...starbucks is supposedly one of the better companies to work for and all their employees are offered health insurance, plus the hours are flex. hourly not great, but my friend worked there and claimed she made a good amount in tips to even things out. also try being a barback then move up to being a bartender, you could definitely make decent money, some places (probably not manhattan) might even hire you directly as a bartender...temp agencies are really good too. good luck.
