Lightbulb Old Pc-games: Abandonware

Hey,

I don't know if you guys know what "abandonware" stands for. But briefly explained: It means the copyrights of the games are expired and they are now available for free download.

Some real diehard gamers might get nostalgic if they view the screenshots at the end of this post...

I just wanted to announce there are 2 major websites which support free (legal) abandonware.

01. Abandonia: Home of abandonware DOS-games

02. Classic Gaming Network: Abandonware Lives

-------------------------------------------------------------------

On these websites I found games as Prehistorik, DUNGEON KEERPER 1 , Ski or Die, Lemmings, Stunts, Wacky Wheels, ... and many more.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you can enjoy some of them again

(P.s. If there's already a thread made for this then I'm sorry and I'll delete it...)

I have almost all of the games off this two sites (and a couple more from other) archived on DVDs (the original floppies for some old games i h had have bean dead for years) and am slowly replaying them again I still enjoy most of them and actualy think that many newer games arent as good as some of these classics.

Now im going for a quick round of BC Racers

dude, no way did you know about ski or die. that game was classic. abandonware is awesome for the old school point-and-click adventures, ie lucasarts ones like day of the tentacle and sam & max

Back in the day I thought the downhill blitz part was good. The other events seemed kinda mediocre in comparison though.

Wow... ALL of the old Sierra "Quest" games are on here too...

I highly recommend the original "Police Quest," and not even the VGA - The ORIGINAL... One of the best games I've ever played

dont forget the great vga remakes that have been made, including the very recent (and happily just finished, on my end) kings quest 3:

http://www.agdinteractive.com/ (kq 1/2, and they are doing quest for glory 2 now )

ultima ftw though, seriously.
