Long-distance relationships and the intraweb

most ppl are boring and ordinary once you get to know them. Girls are so mysterious and sexy until you've settled into a relationship with them. i so do like the chase but hate settling down. this leads me to my theory that long distance relationship and cyber love is appealing because distance makes the heart grow fonder and we aren't exposed to mundane crap of ordinary life.

being an empiricist as far as romantic relationships go allows me to enjoy the mundane, not get bored of it, and somewhat loathe mystique.. you should try it

Ahhh no. I disagree 100%. My fiance is 4000 mile away atm (me chicago-ish, her hawaii). Time apart is a bitch.

And for the fact that you are resorting to this as a means for starting a relationship is sad.... it goes to show that so many people lack the social skills to find and maintain a relationship outside of the realm of a computer screen. The 'mundane crap' is a part of life and essential in every relationship. All relationships, good or bad, are meant to prep you for marriage. Would you want to settle down with someone who you have met 3 times a year for about 2 years? You think you know them... but do you? Fuck no. There are so many traits, characteristics and hidden intricacies in people. You wont find those out unless you are with them. This excludes webcams, chatting and the likes....

LDRs are quite bad. i was in one with my fiance (me- NY him- Australia) but we are getting married in 3 weeks and he is here in NY with me now. the time apart was really rough. but if you can make it thru this you can make it thru anything.

just remember to think of the end to the time apart. i would always think when things were getting rough to remind myself XX amount of days. that always worked.

"hellllllllllloooooooooooooooo"

Posted by BadBadNeil on Jun-26-2006 12:41:

did a LDR for 4 years, almost to the point of being married. Worst thing I've probably done my whole life. Waste of time, sex is infrequent, constant bitching by partner, too much crap to work out. Won't do that again.

igottaknow,
I thought your hand was only an arms reach away. Hardly a long distance relationship if you ask me.

(for calling me an Alt in the other thread!)
