Exclamation ˇAttencion! Shareaza Users

I downloaded Shareaza (p2p filesharing program) from the official shareaza website. It claims it does not have any spyware attatched to it. That may be true.

But what the program did, was download (Yes, by itself), a SHITLOAD of trojans and spyware programs, and then put them into a folder marked "- -" into my "downloads" folder. The folder disappears, and reappears so it's hard as cheese to delete it with a simple right-click of the mouse. The programs shut off my internet connection and I was unable to use my favorite "Ctrl + alt + del". I was not happy. It also screwed up my Windows defender program, as well as Spybot S&d, and AVG anti-virus.

I formatted my comp and now it's all gravy, once again. I am begging you all to boycott Shareaza due to it's virus-infecting habits. They are dirty liars!

It looked legit. It was the top-rated p2p software of 2005, on many sites. I thought it would be safe. Well fuck, I'm not downloading anything.

its ok, you can download stuff. just nothing that ends in "aza" lol

use utorrent and (reliable) torrent sites for most everything. use torrents to download limewire pro. dont download anything obviously shady. make sure one of the first things you download (with torrents) is a decent security program. i use zonealarm full suite. antivirus/antispyware/firewall etc

just dont download shady shit

If you're going to steal music/software.

DC++

Figure out how to use it. And quit using noob-apps that 15 year old high school girls use.

That is all.

i've been using it for a year+ and i've had 0 problems

my guess is that you downloaded something that had a trojan attached to it, and went from there

1. You assume I don't have a job. - I do
2. You assume I don't buy music. - I do

You can play again, if you wish.
