I am currently reading The Library of America's release of H.P. Lovecraft's Tales. If you are into horror, suspense, the unknown, the occult and the beyond (o.O), you might dig Lovecraft. His short stories are the direct influence for a lot of today's horror movies (Evil Dead, Dagon, Re-Animator, Beyond the Walls of Sleep, etc...) and is surely the inspiration for many of today's horror writers. I'm sure Koontz has borrowed from him before, especially with stories like 'Phantoms'
id also recomend "last exit to brooklyn" by hubert selby its fucked up and killing pablo by mark bowden is decent too
i'm about 80 pages into Chuck Palahniuk's 'Haunted' and it's fuckin' great.
we are in chains!!!!!!!!!!!
u can make fun of me but im at the half of marie antoinette's biography ...it's really great because u understant more the causis of the french revolution as well
i advice books from this spanish autor called "lucia etxebarria"

Snow Crash by Neil Stephenson
I am reading a lot of Jules Vernes. I get most if for free right off of gutenberg.org.
I have always admired the visionary guy and it's a shame not much is said about him even if it's still very relevant today (more so then 100 years ago ). I was listening to a literrary show on the radio the other day
and they talked about him a bunch and laughed cause they thought was wacky like that.
