Cycling!

Any cyclists here?

I just got a job repairing bicycles at a shop here and it sparked my interest in the sport. Come to find out my parents had one of my uncle's old racers in the garage.

It's a 1978 Schwinn Continental



While it's far from the modern Kestrels and Quintana tri bikes, it'll do for now.

I'm really starting to enjoy riding.. it's good exercise and fun if the route is interesting.

So, does anyone else cycle? Just trying to get an idea of the community and perhaps some tips from an experienced rider to a novice..

I don't cycle but, are those handle bars crooked or is it just me?

Used to.. before the accident. Now I'm scared shitless.

My buddy shaves his legs cause he rides all the time. I cant imagine liking a hobby so much Id shave my legs.

lol.. my cousin does the same.. he rides competitively though.

the explanation i've gotten about the shaving thing is that if they fall, the hair would be ripped out, causing more pain and such.

if i ever got to that point i'd just end up fitting in around here. during my senior year of hs a couple years ago, all the sup4r popular dud3s shaved their legs.

i have no idea why.

I've got an exercise bike. That's about as close to cycling as I get. I still love doing it, though. No places around here to offer a route.

i got an early 80s fixed gear peugeot. running 40 x 14 gears and no brakes
