A new remix contest!

hey fellow TAs,
the Cleveland based label Toes In The Sand (progressive house and breaks) launch a remix contest for a track of mine called In Leaps and Bounds, supported by djs like Hernan Cattaneo, Dj Tarkan, etc.
The winning remix will be released with 4 other remixes (of the 4 other tracks of the EP), by the duo V-Sag ans Dj Tarkan, the newcomers Emersia, the dutch amazing boy Eelke Kleijn, and the talented Drew Nichols.

I hope you'll enjoy it!

A midi would had been nice...

Posted by d-miurge on Jun-27-2006 12:58:

oh yeah shit I forget it when I did the pack, but now I'm in Germany without my production computer for still at least a month, but the chords are quite easy to find.

Thanks for the heads up.

thank you for the opportunity!!

i like the bassline in this track, but find the synthy overtone rather annoying, i think this would be a key change to a good remix.

ah cool stuff

Let me understand since I'm new to this. I've never done a remix. Must we use all parts? I'm assuming we can make up our own parts with what was given to us, right?

I know I'm going to be black-listed and get so much flak for asking such a stupid question

/put head in sand

you can use the parts as you like, there are no specific rules... Listen to Derek Howell Remix of Skooma - Mephala, there is almost no originl parts used. And this remix rocks!

Posted by ess765 on Jun-28-2006 17:44:

can you confirm the original bpm??

Posted by Reconceal on Jun-28-2006 20:59:

im in.

Bmp is 128 i belive, and i made a midi of the melody that i think is pretty close, so if anyone needs it before miurge adds the original to the package, feel free to say.

Posted by ess765 on Jun-28-2006 21:45:

ok..so we should use the audio you sent us and then add whatever we feel like adding, right?
That s why I wanted to know the correct bpm...cause I ll use cubase sx and some extra synth sounds..

great track by the way..

Posted by PutBoy on Jun-28-2006 22:42:

Didn't like the original much, so I feel obliged to do it better ;P

jk, great track, and congrats on getting a release. I noticed you did a remix on Polar White (or what the track's name was). Great work man!

I'll take what you have. Send it to [email protected] if you would be so kind

EDIT: Oh, and I counted 128 BPM as well.

I must say, my remix rockz0rs. I intend to win this acctually.

The beats are all in 128 bpm, according to FL beat slicer anyways.

Is the key D# Minor anyone?

Posted by The Drow on Jun-29-2006 19:27:

Please give us a midi...

Omer

The bpm is indeed 128, and sorry people but as I previously said, Im in Germany without my production computer, so Im not able to sort out a midi for the moment.
But most of packs for remixes are done without midi file, thats why I forgot it... Sorry guys.
