Jog wheel on CDJ 200's
Just a quick question about CDJ 200's. When i put a cd in is it possible to use the jog wheel to pull back and release the track like on the 1000's or do i have to release the incoming track using the play and cue buttons? If i cant then what can i do with the jog wheel?
The cdj1000 and 800 have the option of vinyl mode and cd mode. The cdj200 only has cd mode meaning you cant use it to scratch and cue like vinyl. I dont know about stopping and starting with the platter but basicaly its for fastforwarding/rewinding, searching through different tracks and controlling effects.
Ok thanks a lot. SO i guess that means i will have to tap the cue and play button back and forth until the first beat is released on time with the playing track.
I have only ever used a few cd players and they where not even proper tabletop dj cd player but im pretty sure it stutters. It loops the frame you are on. You use the jogwheel to find the point you want to start from then you hit play to go. Simple.
EDIT: Although its pretty pointless i have used the cdj1000 but only in vinyl mode.
No vinyl mode on the 200s so you have to cue it up in CDJ mode. The jog wheel is for pitch bending and setting your cue point.
No you dont have to constantly hhit play then cue to find the cue point. If you hit play twice it will go in Stutter mode which means it plays frames of the track then use jog wheel to find the beginning of first beat then press cue and you are all set.
There is no vinyl mode though
Ok thanks guys that really clears things up. ALthough i dont use vinyl i am just in the habbit of pulling the cdj platter back and forth as you would on a turntable. So for the cdjs if im correct i use the wheel to find the beat i want or cue point, then press cue to set it.
cheers!
