Dell users...u have been forewarned...lol

Posted by The Highroller on Jun-28-2006 16:54:

I like how they decline to say what model it was. I wonder what the cause of it was?

According to the article, the explosions were occuring for 5 minutes! I was just using my laptop on my lap yesterday.

This really isn't anything new, laptops have been blowing up and catching fire in peoples' laps for years.

he didnt say best.

good, i can agree on...i know alot of Dell users and they are satisfied. if ur a pro user however, u would build ur own or get a better quality laptop.

u DO know that dell's laptops and printers are actually rebranded versions of other models out there right?

Of course, but their Inspiron laptops are piles of shit. I've never used a more fragile laptop. The Latitudes are quality though.

This was true in 1999.

Now they make cheap, run-of-the-mill computers for people who have friends that told them that Dell is the best thing in the world.

They coined the term 'Firewire' didn't they?

Posted by zokissima on Jun-29-2006 13:58:

Dell machines can be good, if you spend the money and get them to install quality products. Their support is their selling point.
Bashign dell has nothing to do with a computer elitist. The elitists build their own machines, and bash everything, with dell just getting it a bit more.

EDIT: If you can afford it, powerhouse IBM laptops are pretty nice.
