urgent hmwk help..anyone REALLY good with excel?

=10*LOG10(1+(SIN(4*3.14*E5)/(4*3.14*E5*A2/1130))+(SIN(4*3.14*E6)/(4*3.14*E6*A2/1130))+(SIN(4*3.14*E7)/(4*3.14*E7*A2/1130))+(SIN((4*3.14*SQRT((E6^2)+(E7^2))/(1130/A2)))/(4*3.14*SQRT((E6^2)+(E7^2))*A2/1130)+(SIN((4*3.14*SQRT((E5^2)+(E6^2))/(1130/A2)))/(4*3.14*SQRT((E5^2)+(E6^2))*A2/1130)+(SIN((4*3.14*SQRT((E5^2)+(E7^2))/(1130/A2)))/(4*3.14*SQRT((E5^2)+(E7^2))*A2/1130)+(SIN(4*3.14*SQRT((E5^2)+(E6^2)+(E7^2)))/1130/A2)/(4*3.14*SQRT((E5^2)+(E6^2)+(E7^2))*A2/1130)))))

That is my formula (dont ask)...all i need to know is when i frag the formula down to other cells, how do I keep the E5, E6 and E7 values constant, but update the A2 value to be A3, A4, A5 ect..

It automaticlaly updates the A values but it is also changing the E values to E7, E8, E9, ect and there is no data in those cells, I need it to keep reading the values in E5, E6, and E7 all the time?

Anyone?

Posted by LKD on Jun-28-2006 17:56:

as far as i know, thers no way out of that....ive tried it before....

unless......i think theres a constant command...lemem check

Posted by NuERA on Jun-28-2006 17:58:

i could go through and change it all manually, but with 18 cells and a formula that long it wouldnt be very fun

$E$5 will keep it constant... if you want to just keep the row constant, put $ in front of the row and vise versa for the column

I will never remember that...

I always use the help function when I get stuck with things... the only thing that doesn't work for is when you are trying to hook up your ipod or pda phone...
