Armin last night (get ready D.C.)
Armin lived up to all my expectations last night. He was simply
remarkable. He played quite a few tracks i was firmiliar with--sound of goodbye, tell me why(the riddle),a few others i cant think of right now. You guys are so lucky to be getting a 4 hour set from him, as we chowda heads only get him for 2--but im used to it now i supposed, 2 is better then none (especially, with the cancelation of the Denver show--being 1 of only 2 U.S stops) i feel fortunate.
IMO Armin was better then Ferry.
have fun guys
Thanks brother!
I'm glad that you had such a good time!
Now I REALLY can't wait for tonight!!!
dam i wanted to go last night and tonight...UUUUGGGHHHHH
Armin was great last night. Got a chance to chat with him for a few minutes before his set.
See http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...7711#post377711 for tracklist. Add what you can.
Avalon crowd was the worst I have see yet. Crowd just pushing and elbowing around on the dance floor ... people just walking around and not dancing. Then everyone left the floor with 10 minutes left, there were huge holes in the floor. And fights between over juiced dudes with, which went unbroken up by the non-existent security. I thought I was at Exit ....
That being said ... Armin played almost everything I was hoping he would. Great set by him .. lights were also top-notch as usual.

so is Tiesto going to be at Avalon or Axxis?
Armin was increadable last night....He blew my mind away!!!! I don't know how to explain how awesome he was. I'm so glad that i went. I got there at like 1130 and he was already on. His set started off a little slow, then it got intence...Really great stuff!!! I thought that he was better then Ferry's set there too. As for the crowd, whatever i don't pay attenshion, i dance hard so when people come my way, they go around me so they wont get bumped into hehe =) Don't worry Tiesto14, it's not THAT bad. And Tiesto is going to be in avalon too. You'll be happy about tha if you go into axis. axis is mad small. avalon is small too, but axis is reallllllly smaller. if you have any more questions about that dump, let me know =) i think the sound system is pretty good (depends where your standing) and the lights are allright, but the lazers were great last night, best ive ever seent he lazers be at that place. as i said before, i'm glad i went and ill be there next weekend for carl cox!
ya Freeza i am glad u had a good time...
well i know there is no dress code..so i can wear my hat and UFOs and be comfy when i dance...THATS A PLUS...but hows the DJ booth set up...are u able to see the DJ or is he tucked away....??
Ok, the dj booth is upstairs, and you can go upstairs and walk behind the booth and watch, but after like your there for 1 minute a bouncer will tell u that you can't stand there and tell you to get up on the stairs, where you still can see the dj from, but at a weird angle. If your downstairs on the dancefloor, it depends where you are, but you can see the dj too, depending on the lighting. I usually go upstairs right when i get there and try to get an autograph and a picture ( i was successful last night!!! and at ferry too!!!) and then i go downstairs and chill to the left off the dancefloor (i'd be on the dancefloor, but it is always too packed!!) and i find a little spot on the rug where i can still see dj, and i dance my ass off. It's very "clubish" though and i dont think that its dark enough. axis is darker. Hope this helped, peace and respects.
ya man...that was a perfect description...thanks...so u got Armins aoutgraph thats sweet...u get any pics with him...
Oh yea, one more thing, when you go there make sure that you go into avalon, because since its 4 clubs connected, you can pay and go into anyone, but the reason why i say this is because for the pvd show back in august, since it was so packed in avalon, they weren't letting people into avalon at points of the night, and it would suck.
well put Freeza.
but heeey---easy on Axis, its one of the country's most intimate settings..and a favorite among many DJ's including Dubfire, Danny Howells etc..
hey, axis is allright. all i said it that its really small...anddd it is hehe =) I like it tho because i remember it being darker then avalon. and i like darknessss hehe. (Ive only been to axis once and avalon three times) I couldn't stand to be in eather place all night though. if it wasn't for the insane music they have there, i'd walk in and be like...ok bye! hehe. so im kinda glad it ends early and its cool its so close to my house
Hey toocoolchris, is your name on here after that dj, that spins hard and boottty house?
u guys say the clubs are CONNECTED right...does that mean u can walk in and out of them at any time....
i mean without walking outside
Exactally, that why I said make sure when you get there to go into Avalon, and not Axis or the Embassy or the Modern as they are all connected and you can get into each club without going outside. Admission lets you go into any club you want. Because as i said before, during the PVD show, they didn't let anyone in avalon from any of the other clubs, because avalon was too packed. I dont know if they do that often or not, because as i said, i've only been there three times =)
LOL so are u telling e that when i go see Tiesto and pay to get in..i can actually go to all those clubs and ONLY pay to get into Avalon???....1 admission for a couple of clubs
Yup yup, hehe i actually never have been into the other 2, only avalon and axis, i never want to leave avalon, because the only times i go there is when someone really good is going to be there, so i always end up staying in avalon the whole time, because i dont wanna miss a beat =) but you can go where ever u want
4 clubs total.
WOW thats pretty cool.....so since u know this club so well...are there any LIQUID dancers there..or will i be one of the few...LOL
Well its all just people getting drunk walking around getting in your way, every time i have been there, there a like about 10 ravers or liquid dances as you say there, but they arent that good and new to the scene. but as redeye said before, like only 1% of the people there know who the dj is, well unless paul oakenfold, dave ralph, or paul van dyk are there
dam freeza thansk for all the info....too bad u cant go for Tiesto we coulda met up or soemthing....
Well i might go to carl cox tongiht in new york. look for a kid dressed in all black baggy clothes and spinning green glowsticks on strings
