who's the most respected trance dj of all time?

what would make a dj unrespected, unless they play a pre-mixed set or something...

this place is useless,

nobody ever contributes anymore,

everybody seems to have the mr mystery illness

Personally in trance, Im gonna say Tiesto has contributed the most in terms of bringing trance to more people, holding the biggest events and with a huge catalogue of productions, many of which are classics played throughout the trance scene.

Ironically Tiesto often gets no respect whatsoever which blows away all I've just said.

Probably, it's Kool Herc. Comparing any contemporary "trance DJ" to Kool Herc is like comparing Clinton to Alexander the Great.

How do you measure respect?

this is not a best thread, it's about respect for community commitment toward trance

i.e. a name that most djs in the scene and us clubbers would immediately think of as somebody that has brought trance forward

That's almost the same

Everyone has different standards, that's why such questions are useless and mostly end up in flame wars / bash threads

Not offended, but I did say who, in my opinion, is the most repected trance dj of all time in my opinion.

If we're talking about super star DJ's, all this Mickey Mouse modern trance scene, we have to look back to those who shaped the DJ'ing culture.

And, if you even think of the "but he doesn't play trance" argument... well, neither do Armin Van Buuren et alii.

avb spins trance, perhaps not a branch u like, if you disagree ,

u need to vacate to www.hiphop-addicts.com which u'll find at mtv.com, which comes from www.im-a-pile-of-poo.com

Just give up. It's for your own good.

Ich versuch dir doch nur klarzumachen, dass eine solche Frage in diesem Forum unweigerlich zu Flames / Bashes ausartet
